Anchorman
The thing is Anchorman 2 has a pretty good and appropriate premise: How Ron Burgundy permanently ruined the news and thus society. It was an obvious direction to take it. The first 2/3 is pretty funny, but the last 1/3 is just fricking awful. It really, really goes off a cliff on a dime.

I know, the OG all needed the money, and they made a buttload of it in movies III thru VI.
But the franchise should have ended with Kirk saying “I feel young”.

Exorcist 3 is a good watch.
Absolutely, but I don’t really consider it a sequel to The Exorcist. It’s based on Blatty’s novel Legion and was only given the Exorcist III title for marketing purposes. The studio even forced Blatty, who also directed the film, to add the exorcism scene at the end of the film.

The Mummy Returns was great. Hogwash. Rachel Weiz was pure smoke in 2.

Halloween
Michael Meyers was simply described as "The Shape" in the script and the creepy shadowy figure was as terrifying as the briefly seen shark in Jaws or the xenomorph in Alien.
Showing the monster well-lit & detailed is fine if you are making an action movie, but the sight of the villain no longer instills fright which is self-defeating if you are making a horror movie.

Probably going to ruffle some feathers but Rocky should have definitely ended at four. If you wanted to be more strict it should have ended at One. One is a great piece of cinema. 2-4 is 80s cheese at it's finest I must say but as quality cinema much different than One. The two movies after 4 is garbage minus the 2 min speech in Rocky Balboa (6).

Dumb and Dumber. IDK why they thought they had to mess with a masterpiece.

I do agree that all of the movies that come after Rocky cheapen what is by itself a legitimately great film. The message of, "True victory lies not necessarily in defeating your opponent, but rather in knowing you have given everything you have in the pursuit of victory," is made less impactful by the sequels' message of, "frick that! Victory is all about winning!" The whole point of Rocky is that he doesn't beat Creed in the end, so making a sequel where he does beat Creed was pandering to the audience at its finest.
Still, though, HEARTS ON FIIIIRE! STRONG DESIIIIIRE! frick yeah!
