Pretty much.

My take on Reloaded and Revolutions is that Reloaded has several films worth of setpieces within it while Revolutions gets stuck trying to un-frick the ending of Reloaded for about an hour along with having muddled philosophy that is inconsistent with what has been presented to that point.

In short, Reloaded was everything the Wachowskis had put into the follow-up to The Matrix crammed into one film. Revolutions was the afterbirth that came with it.

Given how great the original film is, Jaws. There was absolutely no need for a sequel, much less the two abominations that followed Jaws 2. Jaws: The Revenge is arguably the worst widely released sequel ever made. The plot is just insane. The shark follows Mrs. Brody from New England to the Bahamas.

Not on the same level as the original of course, but I always thought The Exorcist 3 with George C. Scott was an under-rated horror movie. The night nurse sequence is one of the better horror scenes there is IMO.

He killed the Shark, leave it alone. Oh but the Shark's kid wants Revenge. Okay now you just took a Classic and went into B-movie realm.

On concept, a Conan the Barbarian sequel was a no-brainer.

On execution, it was a stinker compared to the original. The problem was that it was a different kind of movie. Less epic, less cinematic, cheaper. Less serious. Not so much bad as a bad copy.

I don't agree. Just because the sequels were bad doesn't mean there shouldn't have been any.

Dumb and Dumber.

My favorite comedy of all time. I refuse to watch the sequel or the “prequel” because I don’t want anything to tarnish the reputation of the OG.

I don't agree on The Matrix. The end of that movie makes you feel that there is a wider story just beginning. There was clearly more to tell. They just really, really fricked up telling it in the two movies we got.

Return of the Jedi is different. At the end of that movie the story is done. There was no need for a sequel.
