If I had to say what the most common answers would be, I'd say it probably consists of Tony Soprano, Larry David, Tyrion or Jon Snow, and maybe Stringer Bell.

Give me Rustin Cohle, La Flama Blanca, Omar Devone Little, and Chief of Police Kevin Garvey Jr.

Narrowing it down to four on HBO is tough. Insane amount of good characters.

What say you?

That's a hell of a top 4. Can't see another network being able to top that.

Yeah I mean I know it’s all subjective but I don’t see how any list like this can not have Tony.

Objectively the most important character in HBO history.

I'm surprised you don't have Carrie Bradshaw.

Right behind Tony Soprano for me is Nucky Thompson, Boardwalk Empire

Tony would probably be top 10 for me. I didn't watch Sopranos while it was airing and wasn't a part of the cultural phenomenon/ weekly discussions, etc. I watched it years later and enjoyed the show and liked Tony a lot. But there are just other shows and characters I like better. That's why in the OP I said he would be on most peoples list but this was just my personal preferences. Obviously someone like Kevin Garvey is not a more iconic character than Tony Soprano, but it's my favorite show of all time and he's my favorite character on the show, hence why he's on my list.

I'd have to think about it but off the top of my head Dick Winters would be on it for sure

I'm not top 4. Put Baby Billy Freeman above me, at least.

Thanks though

Don't you say a word. this is my Mount Rushmore. I don't have the time to explain how Kevin's psychological/supernatural state is actually very crucial to advancing the story not just some random dream sequence.
