I thought it was boring, way too long and extremely over-hyped. The scenery was pretty though.

I felt the same

I get caramels online. 40mg cbd/20mg thc each. Enough to hit pretty hard.

I think it’s perfect as an allegory for communication.
This can be so difficult, especially when one party considers themselves superior to the other,

Your gif proves nothing - here is a movie called, Rocky. It's not Dances With Chickens.

I always chose to believe that the wolf they showed howling at the end was Two Socks, having recovered from his wound.

Im a member of the DLDWWS; wish I knew how to post the Far Side cartoon. I guess that also qualifies me for DKHTPPOTD as well.

I loved it. I watched it a lot as a kid. Pretty sure I got it with a happy meal at micky d’s. Need to rewatch.

It is a total fantasy movie, should have been called Camelot on the Plains.

Good movie, I enjoyed it.

Going Native was the sub plot, but left off the Indian customs, which caused many to go native.

I have rewatched it twice, it is one of many movies' fans can rewatch and still enjoy.

So are sharks.

I’m speaking moreso to the relatability and companionship aspect of a wolf compared to a shark. The original poster seemed to suggest they are mere predators and should be shown no remorse

Sharks are awesome no doubt, but wolves are different from a relatability, pack-oriented social perspective imo.

We’ll never be able to bond with a shark, but it can happen with wolves

It is among my top 5 all-time favorite movies. I will usually watch it anytime I come across it.

I love the theme song from the movie, its one of those songs that gets stuck in my head

I've only watched its 4 hr director's cut. Not the theatrical. And I absolutely loved the film. It's certainly a great, classic movie. For me, it was entertaining throughout.

The scenery and score are amazing which makes it a beautiful film.
Yes it can be a little slow and boring at times but I think that’s kind of the point. This is 1860’s present day western Kansas/Nebraska before the railroads made it that far. That is about as desolate, and lonely it can get.

Very little CGI so it feels very authentic. The logistics for filming the Buffalo hunt scene are hard to imagine. A helicopter, about 10 trucks also filming, 25 mounted riders riding through an actual stampeding herd of 3,500 Buffalo lol.
They could only do this scene once a day bc the herd would run 10 miles before the wranglers could get them to stop. This was filmed on the famed Triple U Ranch in South Dakota which is now owned by Ted Turner.

One of my favorites
The wolf and the horse getting shot are tough to watch. I moved to South Dakota as a job transfer mainly because of this movie. I made it one winter.
We did go to a movie location that actually had the horse from the movie, this was 1996 or so. A few of the buildings.
From what I recall it was near or on location where most of the movie was shot - at a huge ranch in South Dakota
