If we are talking sexiest scene I have always thought given the totality of the scene it is Joy Harmon in Cool Hand Luke

“ANYBODY SEEN RICHIE?! ANYBODY KNOW WHY RICHIE DID BOBBY LUPO?!”

The carnage Steve Seagal unleashed in the barroom fight scene in Out for Justice may be the finest few minutes ever committed to film.

The dentist scene in Marathon Man

Sadly, dental hygienists are far too young to get the "is it safe?" reference these days.

IMO, Dorothy's appearance in Munchkinland (from the time she opens the door to her house until she leaves on the Yellow Brick Road) is the most famous scene in movie history.

You have...

1. The dramatic change from black and white to technicolor.

2. The introduction of the Wicked Witch of the West, one of the greatest villains in movie history.

3. The introduction of the Ruby Slippers, perhaps the most famous film prop of all time.

4. The line "Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."

5. The "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" song.

That movie is 85 years old and any random idiot on the street should be familiar with that scene.

ETA: But if you were asking about scenes with a lot of action or grandeur, I would go with Moses parting the Red Sea or the opening scene of Star Wars (or the trench run at the end).

Couple of scenes from Lawrence of Arabia come to mind.
- When they blow up the train and charge down the sand dune to attack it
- When they ride into the seaport town to attack it after marching across the desert which was suppose to be impossible

In Citizen Kane, there’s a single shot, after he’s alienated everyone who cared about him, he’s walking with a cane through his empty estate, Xanadu, and he hobbles through a long hall that is lined with mirrors- the camera sees a long reflection of reflections, all of himself, by himself. Never saw such a visual representation of loneliness in a film ever again. It was striking.

That car chase in Bullitt set the standard that every car chase has to meet to be legitimate.

Not greatest ever but some of my personal favorite scenes are in Boogie Nights. The 79-80 New Years Party, the drug deal robbery, and the climax with the gongs.

I like Epic scenes like this one where the kill shot causes a terrorist to accidentally fire his rocket launcher killing their buddies like this one in 13 Hours.

Le Marseille scene in Casablanca:
That’s a good one as is when Sam plays As Time Goes By and Rick storms out of his office - that scene gave me goose bumps the first time I saw it. The final scene at the airport is another good one.

The Alamo

This is Wayne's end scene.

SEVEN SAMURAI

LINK

Seven Samurai is one most copied movies all time, and has many great scenes.

The Hidden Fortress

LINK

The movie Star Wars is based off, Luke is a woman (the commoner who serves the princess) in this movie and in the original script (twin sister).

This is not one scene, just shows the movies side by side.
