wasn't enough for her to just put Abernathy down to stop his suffering, she had to take the data from his head to make sure that Delos didn't get it and to make destroying the cradle (and those beautiful tatas) mean anything.

The big deal with the thing in his head is the eternal life/copying humans project. That’s what Bernard and Ford were talking about inside of the cradle

If it were just the backup to the cradle then Delores would’ve just blown her fathers head off and been done with it.

She (and ford by osmosis), has a bigger plan for that data. Not sure what exactly

AHHH. I missed that. I didn't realize that Charlotte had gotten all of that information in there.

Earlier in the season Bernard and Charlotte went to the same lab where Bernard is shown in a flashback to have taken Fords conscious/brain or whatever from. So she was well aware of that project and THATS why they want that data so bad. They could care less about the hosts, they could fairly easily blow the damn thing up and start from scratch.

But they can’t replace the decades of research done on the guests and all the data that it holds because that’s the future of Delos.

Good episode, but did anyone else think there were way too many scenes where a character was moments away from getting killed but coincidentally spared in some way at the very last second?

I can't wait til this season is over so I can go back and figure out what the hell is going on. The time line jumps, with Bernard, have me all kinds of confused.

Yeah I had no idea what was going on half the time. When does the flood come? And the preview for next week felt like a troll attempt.

Loved the episode.

I only have a few gripes but it didn't detract from the experience.

I don't like how inept the human special forces are.

Why didn't Delores use the buggies instead of the horses when she left Maeve?

Why do the hosts know how to do perfect combat? They didn't get their attributes bumped and didn't have a matrix moment.

I still do not understand why hosts guns can kill humans. The concept never made sense to me.

nah but trying to figure out the time line of when they are interrogating him got me.

Is it after everyone got shot to shite and the back up servers got blown up or before?

Loved the concept of using memories as a way to make a copy of the original human. The problem is the human wouldn't know it as they are essentially a new "human" bit with the same traits.

Ford can only control Bernard from the inside but isn't that essentially what they want? Ford is running around in a Bernard suit so why couldn't he just run around in a Ford suit and be immortal?

the way she was talking was just to make sure it was all destroyed so no one could live for ever.

Unless Ford's last narrative was to have the host kill of mankind and rule the world.

The guns used in the parks are all lethal if not retarded. They have electronics in them that dial back how hard they shoot if fired at a human, but let the bullet fly full speed when fired at a host. The Mesa could control how hard you'd get hit by a host depending on the intensity of the story you were part of. Ford removed all of those safeguards, though, so the guns now just all go pew pew pew, host or human target.

In contrast, any gun that has red painted somewhere toward the front, like Stubbs' sidearm or the P90s the security guys carry is a real gun that uses very lethal bullets. They go pew pew pew all the time.

After. Angela goes to the Cradle and blows it up when Delores is about to give Charlotte a haircut. Charlotte and Stubbs escape in the confusion. Delores cuts dad's head open and takes his control unit.

Charlotte's interrogation of Bernard takes place after because they discover Bernard's true nature and she's trying to get him to reveal where the control unit went.

But they are gun powder. Just ignite and it shoots, you don't pick how fast.

No, they LOOK like they're gunpowder weapons just like Westworld LOOKS like it's 1880 and the hosts LOOK like they're human. It's all part of the technology and illusion of the park.

That's pretty much how they work, though, by modulating the power. If you shoot them at a human, they're basically like today's simunitions, but if you shoot them at a host, they go full velocity. They've kind of flirted with explaining the high levels of what's happening, but not the exact details.

Except, again, for the real guns with red on them that are carried by security and QA forces. Stubbs explained that in no uncertain terms. They are different than the guns used in the park and are very lethal. Those are, presumably, your standard gunpowder peashooters. No dial-a-yield there.

pretty good episode tonight. lots of interesting developments. Hopkins was sorely missed so I'm glad to have him back. Unrivaled screen presence.

the grenade scene is the single worst scene in the history of the show. im glad that the WW subreddit's top post is one that's just bitching about the security teams, because they completely shatter my immersion every time they fight the hosts.

MiB/Maeve scene was cool in its execution, but horribly contrived. Ya, let's have him show up just as Maeve finds her daughter and they're hiding in a house just like the last time they met get real

Yeah, I didn't want to bring that up. I think I tried to mentally pretend it didn't exist.

"Imma kill you."
"Ouch. Well, now Imma seduce you."
"Just kidding. Boom."

someone posted this in last week's thread. it's a running time line of westworld. they update it after each episode (tonight's episode is already added). it's helpful if you're a little confused about when things are happening.
