IRL it would take months of convalescing and therapy to recover from that many bullet wounds. I expect MIB to be riding a horse next week.

IRL we don’t have the ability to make carbon copy human like robots that you can frick so I’m gonna guess that passes the fly test

We’ve seen multiple people heal wounds with medical devices that sew up a wound fairly easily (including the MiB himself) so don’t tell me it doesn’t fit in this world they’ve created

Heres what i dont get- Why is it such big deal when a host dies? Cant they just be brought right back to life?

Not anymore. The explosion from this episode took out all the “backups” which means when your dead Your dead. Which makes the hosts more real than they’ve ever been

I don't think that's quite the case. Hosts could still be repaired and woken up if killed as long as someone has the ipad that can read their code. All that is still intact. The CR4DL was simply backups for rollback/IP purposes. They weren't used in the live environment. The hosts wanted them destroyed so that the humans no longer had the opportunity to put them back to the way they were.

If there system is corrupted enough where they needed a reboot (ie dead), they would have no data to restart the host over again. That’s literallystraitht from the conversation between Delores and Charlotte.

Well depends in the manner of the death.

Anyway I would hope Delos has offsite backup servers. If not out the park but backup somewhere else in the park.

sudo dd bs=4M if=/dev/sdb of=westworld.img

We still need Maeve to die. She is so fckking boring.

Which is why I said "not quite". Being shot in the head would still cause a system failure. But bleeding out from a stab wound in the leg, wouldn't. Both would result in the death of a human but only one would kill a host.

Something we can all agree on.

Personally I like Maave as a contrast to Delores

She’s also seemingly the only one whose actually “woke” and choosing her own path

Do they actually know how to drive them?

That's a character flaw.

You can definitely make a case for this because we saw her break from the "escape" storyline as well as being able to control other hosts. But I have a problem with that, too. First, how is she doing it? Connected to the network like with bluetooth? She can only control ones that are close to her like she's her own "ipad controller"? And is something other hosts can/will do? How is that freedom for them?

Dolores didn't annoy me this episode for the first time in 2 seasons.

I'm shocked with the last 2 episodes. This show is sort of coming together better. The Westworld mess might end in a decent way.

Props to this show on acting. Almost everyone is just outstanding. The bad acting on GoT ruined that series. Let us not even get into the BS we got on screen the last 1.5 seasons.

But you notice we only have to suspend disbelief for the primary characters, while secondary characters and extras are getting mowed down left and right. Perhaps the advanced tech just isn't for everyone?

Yeah.

They are handing out to much Plot Armor. Wish some of the deaths this episode stuck.

She has her cognitive abilities turned all the way up. She’s smarter than Delores or any other host outside of maybe Bernard

Ford talked about the Mesh network last season. It’s how the hosts are able to react to changes in the narrative. The hosts essentially communicate with each other in this network so they know how to react to the situation

Maave is smart enough to figure out how to hack into the mesh network and commicate freely within it and use it as a control

And yes there is an issue of whether she is giving these host free will, but there’s a difference between what she does in self defense (making the host kill themseves) vs the choice that she gave the Asian version of herself. That choice is to make that host became “awake” and realize the truth of their reality. She hasn’t given every one that choice, but she has given it to the ones she feels worthy of it.

Also it was shown that the mesh network manipulation does not work on hosts who are “woke”.

You still have to be alive to use that tech. The random guys getting shot in the face aren’t getting resurrected from that tech.

if they can make the jump from old west firearms to firearms that have top loading, frame mounted, longitudinal magazines, im assuming they can learn how to operate a vehicle

I totally see your point, but that comparison is a huge stretch. There's nothing similar about driving and horse riding, but ffs both are guns with a barrel and a trigger.

Back to the episode. I like this one mostly due to Ford. But I'm not sure how I feel/like him uploading himself into Bernard. How would he know something like that would work? How is a single host able to handle two minds?

Wasn't s1 finale called the bicameral mind?
