I still watch it all the time. It’s a running joke in our house, because it’s ALWAYS on some channel or another. It’s nostalgic to me, and the soundtrack was awesome- I still have it.

You’ll get down voted to oblivion, but you’re 100% correct. It’s tripe.

The only thing in your rambling post I would agree with....

quote:

Jami Gertz looked much older than she was

She's a weird fit in the movie and the forced juxtaposition doesn't really work.

They're trying to pigeon her as some older successful career gal vs. can't get her shite together, Helen Hunt and her character falls flat.

It's all good. I have to say though I am very surprised it's so well regarded amongst you guys. I knew there were some fans but not like this.

One of the finer lines in that movie

My 12 year old watched it recently and was on the edge of her seat the entire movie.

The 90s was a great movie time. Bill Paxton could fight tornadoes, Bruce Willis could fight asteroids, and the physics didn’t matter. Far better than our current state of Hollywood.

Anyone that analyzes Twister any deeper than was the popcorn good at the theater, needs more to do.

I couldn't watch it for more than 20 minutes before I had to turn it off. The film now feels like an ancient relic of the past (I must be an ancient relic of the past too lol). Too many flaws and the advancements in both science and filmmaking. It has definitely not aged well.

It was a great movie to see in the theater.

It's a crazy, silly movie. Enjoy it for what it is. If you're looking for Shakespeare, go watch Romeo and Juliet.

Terrible take! Twister is better than it has any business being. Though the visuals were great you could listen to it like an audio book and you would still be entertained.

That's ridiculous. Do Helen and Bill even see a twister in the first 20 minutes?

The real question is what is it about Twister that makes it so awesome despite its flaws?

I think it's the evil weathermen in scary black vans.
