I'm really enjoying this, but Ali can be difficult to understand. I have to rewind sometimes to try and catch what he just said.

Yeah. We watch everything with CC.

Also my new theory is that Hays and Roland kill the cop (who is the man in the suit) because they find out that he kills the cousin in an attempt to keep him from talking.

In the beginning after Will's death, a couple was saying to the detectives that there are rumors that the kids are not Tom's and Lucy has been sleeping around.

I think that Kindt was one of the people that Lucy slept around with and Julie is his daughter but Will isn't. I believe that Kindt found out and didn't want it to be tarnished so he took Julie and Will got in the way and got killed. The dolls were planted by a bystander as a guide to find Will and had nothing to do with it. Also, the pose he was in was to keep him in peace.

I think that Lucy knew about all this and couldn't go to the police because Kindt would kill Julie. She wrote the message to let the investigation "go away."

I got most of this because of the call from Julie. She said get that man away from me. I don't think she means Tom, I think she means Kindt.

I also might add that the bystander could have been Lucy and not a random that put Will there.

I think you may be onto something here.

I'm pretty sure that was Tom's parents. The show is clearly rife with a lot of red herrings, but there's also got to be some Chekov's Gun in there, too.

I may be alone here, but I think something is going to come from that tip line call that occurred in ep 2 or 3 (can’t remember which). The caller referenced she had a dream that the girl was being held at a snake farm and that her dreams always come true. Roland scoffs and then tells her to call back in the morning and ask for the FBI agents.

I think something comes from this as well.

Damn yall saw some idiot at HBO posted the episode 6 "inside the episode" 3 minute video online yesterday and it was up for like 4 hours? This is the thing that shows after the episode is over and reviews the major scenes in each episode with commentary from Nic P. And behind the scenes stuff. Damn how did they let that happen.

I just rewatched S3E5 and paid particular attention to the call to the State police hotline and the discussion they were having on the porch at the end. Certainly the caller was referring to the "father" when she said "I know what he did". She also said that's not my real name and he is not my real father.

During the convo on the porch, it seems clear to me that the 2 detectives killed Harris James and made his body disappear. Harris James is the red haired detective that appears to have planted the red backpack under chief's porch. The guy the investigative film-maker asked Ali about. The one she said the field notes indicated that he interviewed and he claimed not to remember.

When Ali tells his partner that the mother wrote the note, he says "so what? We already knew there was a connection between her and that man you just named (Harris James)".
