Yeah I agree. Rust certainly has been, and if they aren't working it together, they will be soon.

I don't see how they can avoid it at this point. I"m not talking about aliens or anything…just like a spiritual type of warfare. When you introduce a cult of pagans or satanists made up of powerful rich men who sacrifice kids I would say its supernatural at this point.

Im sure this has been said in this 50 PAGE THREAD, but does any one else think that Rusty is undercover in the current timeline and that is why he looks so scuzzy?

It's been mentioned.

I think he's gone rogue. That's why he was seen at the LC crime scene 5 times. The storage unit may be full of evidence. He wanted to see what the detectives had in the LC case and his response was "this is it?"

People are saying that he quit the force because he thinks they were involved. I'm starting to think that he was pulled from the case or was fired....

Thats not supernatural. If satan came down and thanked them, that would be supernatural.

That word on the end? Catharsis is the Greek word for cleansing.

i re-watched the tent sermon this morning (after you suggested it) and catharsis is the main theme of rust's commentary, fwiw

wouldn't marty have to be the focus of a tragedy, though?

Maybe not supernatural in the sense that most people think, but maybe that the king in yellow isn't an actual person. Like, an idea? Would that be in keeping with play/stories? I've only been able to read bits and pieces from Wikipedia.

Which again, makes me believe they are still working it on their own.

well, not to bring reality or Beaumont back, but they have to maintain the lies or else they're going to jail for a long time

frick ginger

they're responsible for at least one murder each (rust in being involved in a felony where people died, and marty for shooting a cuffed, non-threatening ledoux). they're both accessories and involved in covering up the other's respective murder

if either fricks up the story, they both die in prison

Come on, is your mind not blown with Mark 1:41??? It's the passage in the church! Fuuuck

No, catharsis is what the tragedy does for the audience (in a similar fashion, what religious stories do for believers).

You can tell Marty is very careful when talking about Rust. I don't think he's worried about Rust talking, though.

I can't wait to see why they had the falling out.

Why would Rust keep all of his evidence in a storage shed that can go easily be traced to himself?

Was the bar Rust and Ginger met the guy at in Hackberry? It looked familiar.

As soon as Marty bust out of Ledouxs building I yelled he's about to go Seven on him.

I still believe Marty's Fil and or Maggie are involved somehow. The daughter has had some bad shite happen to her and it has to be someone close.

Like most others I believe Rust's storage locker is full of evidence and probably one of those crazy person conspiracy maps with all the string and pictures on it.

Of all the theories and Easter eggs being posted I buy into the 5 guys one the most. I do believe MM knocking down the one tin man represented Ledoux as being the first of the five to go down at the point in the story he was up to with the detectives.

No way he's hiding his shite in there. I think he was just antagonizing the investigators hoping they would waste their time trying to get a warrant.

i get that, but is the catharsis for the audience of rust/marty, or for the "fourth wall" of us?

if it's for us, who is the tragic figure? i'd imagine it would need to be marty

my comment just presumed this
