Holy shite I have a lot to catch up on.
btw, I drove to BR from houston this weekend and I stopped in beaumont due to traffic on I-10 and tried to go around it. I think I ended up somewhere close to where the scene was filmed in the shootout. It was sketchy as frick.

Solid discussion in this thread? I read through about page 12 last night, and now this motherfricker is 50 pages.
Awesome episode last night...nice to see them wrap up the '95 shite (even if only sort of) and move onto newer things (like 2002 and 2012).
The scene with Ledoux was great, and it was cool how both Marty and Rust continue their lies to this day about what happened...even though they're no longer friends or partners, they still have that built-in protection factor. I liked that.
Interested to see what's up with the Yellow King and how that relates to Rustin.
Also liked how they detectives are throwing ideas into Marty's head about why Rust could be the killer. I think that would be too obvious, but I do like that they're addressing that now instead of trying to hold that until the end of the show. That means that they seem to have planned these last three episodes out pretty well in terms of going down certain theories and then switching things up.
Also liked that Rust finally went back to that old school...that thing seemed too important to not make a reappearance at some point. Also looking for the governor and the "bigs" to come back into the fold soon, as well as the travelling preacher folks.

I agree. focusing on stuff that really isn't that important.
I think the cut line from Reggie "you are a priest too" he said to Cohle is very interesting. I wonder why they cut it from the episode but show it in the version on HBo.com…this implies there is some real supernatural other dimension shite going on and Rust is some kind of agent of that world.
