i don't see how it has any real connection to the storylines. i reckon it's just a unique backdrop for cinematography reasons

you can always reach for "progress" symbolism, though. like they're symbols of man's progress, which is man's corruption. or as sam was speaking of earlier, symbols of our perception of control over this earth, which is illusory

I think part of the reason Rust talks the way he does in the interview is he's gone further down the rabbit hole into the coonass illuminati "philosophy." He's able to do this because he's always had the connection through pessimism. He's uniquely situated to understand what they're up to--hence Ledoux's recognition of him.

Look I don't want to start an argument about religion. But yes, the whole point of Christianity is that all saved "human beings rise from the dead like Jesus".

Although St. Paul's word for this is "awakening"--i.e., enlightenment.
