Favorite character is Jimmy Dugan in A League Of Their Own, but Apollo 13 is probably my favorite movie. I've liked it more with each viewing.

Ten to fifteen years ago, I would've said Forrest Gump for both, but I've liked it less with each viewing. It's basically just a series of vignettes for baby boomers to reminisce about while the rest of us root for Jenny to die.

Single funniest scene is The Money Pit when the claw foot bath tub falls through the floor as he’s pouring water into it. Delayed cackling, snorting, honking, maniacal laugh as Shelly Long glances at him as if he’s an escaped lunatic.

That scene is the perfect definition of a broken homeowner.

Nah, neither one of them is a psycho in You've Got Mail so it wins. Dumping her perfectly nice fiancé on Valentine's day for a guy she'd only ever said hello to is a legendary film villain move.

No one has said Philadelphia.

Neither am I.

Forrest Gump has its issues. But it's my "favorite" and the one I've watched the most. It may be the biggest crowd pleaser. Him talking to Jenny at her graveside is peak Tom Hanks.

Captain Phillips hasn't been mentioned, but the final scene when they're doing an eval on him never fails to get me.

He's generally very good in everything. Big, Saving Private Ryan, Apollo 13 are all top of mind.

I’d go with “A League of Their Own”, with either Robert Langdon movies close behind. “Big” & “Apollo 13” to round out the top 5.

No one has mentioned the Robert Langdon movies yet. The first two were great and I watch them every time I come across them. Now the third one was garbage.

Nothing in Common but a big reason is Jackie Gleason’s role

I forgot about a league of their own when answering. I love that movie.

In terms of sheer volume not sure anyone can touch the amount of good movies Tom hanks has. His top 20 list would have me leaving off movies I like. Truly incredible career.

Really hard to answer, there’s so many. Tom Hanks may have the best top 10-20 of anyone. This is splitting hairs and leaving off some stellar films, but I’ll say the top 3 are

Cast Away
Catch Me If You Can
Apollo 13
