It’s honestly a toss up between Larry Crowne and Bonfire on the Vanities

What Roger Ebert wrote about North is how I feel about Larry Crowne.

quote:

"North" is one of the most unpleasant, contrived, artificial, cloying experiences I've had at the movies. To call it manipulative would be inaccurate; it has an ambition to manipulate, but fails.

I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone would like it. Hated the implied insult to the audience by its belief that anyone would be entertained by it.

My favorite live action movie of his is probably Apollo 13.

His performance in Saving Private Ryan is excellent, but I don't think the movie itself was as good as Apollo 13.

The Toy Story movies stand in a category of their own for me.

Castaway

Pretty easy choice for me. There’s more emotion packed into scenes, without a word said, that can be found in entire movies

Apollo 13 was always a favorite of mine.

But Castaway was really good. No other actor could of pulled that off(maybe Brad Pitt) and made that movie as enjoyable as it was.

Who cares he makes damn good movies. I’ll gladly supply him with Adenchrome to keep his career going.

Saving Private Ryan is my favorite Tom Hanks movie.

That scene with him and Tom Sizemore talking about Vecchio. Caparzo. Kills me every time.

Most movies he’s in are good. Single funniest scene is The Money Pit when the claw foot bath tub falls through the floor as he’s pouring water into it. Delayed cackling, snorting, honking, maniacal laugh as Shelly Long glances at him as if he’s an escaped lunatic.

Castaway is probably my favorite acting.

Saving private Ryan is what I’d say is the best movie he is in

Joe vs the Volcano is his movie I will watch every god damned time it comes on and love it

Finally got to the last page and you beat me by a few minutes

Very underrated and forgotten gem. Up there with Catch Me If You Can in his catalog imo.

SPR has to be considered the best movie imo, but as others have said, Cast Away is one of the all time great performances imo. Just an incredible accomplishment by him and I still get blown away by it every time I watch it.
