I don’t think this movie is an indictment of the wealthy

It is not. It is an indictment of the English Aristocracy. There are no gay characters in the movie, just a sociopath who uses whatever means he needs to achieve his goals. Think of it as an English version of a mashup between The Talented Mr. Ripley and American Psycho with the only gore being emotional.

I enjoyed it even though it was unsettling in parts. But the cinematography and the fricking around with the Aristocracy's identity was enjoyable and damning. I thought it truly arrived at the end.

But a much more malicious and mean spirited probe into the life of a loser who ends up in a situation he should never have been in.

I hated Oliver. I don't think I've hated a character in a movie this much in a very long time. It's a credit to Barry Keogh's acting abilities. The Cattons were ridiculous, as most aristocratic rich are, but they didn't deserve to be murdered by a POS loser like Oliver.

I liked Felix. He was a good dude. Not perfect but at least he tried.

It’s weird gay sex Oscar bate, seriously, view the golden globes nominated lists and add up the amount of homosexual characters/topics, it’s absurd

This is basically a Talented Mr Ripley type of movie with a bit more of an outlandish lead.

That’s kinda what I thought. That it was a way darker talented mr ripley. Thought it was ok, ending saved it. I found myself checking how much time was left by the last 30 min

My favorite movie of the year. Barry Keoghan is who Miles Teller wishes he could be.

Could've done without dry humping a grave - was kind of a let down considering the hype

I thought the director's previous movie, Promising Young Woman was better, but even that movie had it's issues.

Here's the Golden Globes 2023 Best Picture Drama nominees. Which ones are filled with homosexual characters/topics?
The Zone of Interest
Oppenheimer
Past Lives
Anatomy of a Fall
Maestro
Killers of the Flower Moon

I wouldn’t watch it again as it was a potentially decent “murder mystery” ruined by gratuitous and disgusting sex/sexual scenes that were not needed. This was cheap “shock value” crap, described accurately above, that was just silly.

The story and murder mystery idea, (grifter, who pretends he is poor and from a broken home, (actually not) weasels/cons his way into a rich family and kills them all to get the big house), mixed with techno music and silliness. Rosamund Pike and Richard Grant were wasted as actors in this one but did pretty well with the garbage they were given.

The trailers/description as a drama/comedy were probably post production efforts to fix a flop. So glad I didn’t see it in the theater and I’ve heard from others that folks got up and left the theater. Avoid at all costs.

I thought it was quite entertaining. There were some pretty funny lines. "It's the police. They keep getting lost in the maze" made my LOL

I read all of this before watching it- so I know, I deserve whatever I get. But man, I sure could've done without this dudes junk just flopping in the wind for the last 5 minutes of the movie- it was like the tracking shot from Goodfellas, only with a schlong.

Oliver says it best to sum up the movie.

you were all spoiled dogs, belly up. With no predators

He was a predator.

Good movie... wouldnt watch again.

Maestro and Anatomy of a Fall.

You also omitted Comedy, Foreign, etc.

I'd wager Rustin, Passages, Poor Things, May December, All of us Strangers, or Mutt get some nods as well.

I remember having a similar feeling back in the day after Talented Mr Ripley but this was next level weirdness. But I didn’t hate it even if I cringed at some of the weirdness.
