Ive never left a theater and had the feeling I did that night. It felt like we started the first day of clown world.
Man, me too. I had never lol'd in a theater at something that wasn't supposed to be funny. I've watched episode 9 over once or twice, but I will never watch The Last Jedi again.

Luke milking that space cow is the best(worst?) example of the pervasive stupidity that abounds in the sequel trilogy

The only way to save Episode 9 was to roll the opening scroller as Episode 8 instead of 9 and pretend 8 never happened. Just blast it out into space like an elderly princess.
For me, the greatest disappointment was finding out Rose Tico didn't have Down's Syndrome. I thought she was a wonderful addition until I realized she wasn't a lovable invalid. I have been fortunate to know several people in my life with the condition, and was genuinely happy to see a person like them in such a prominent franchise and role. I might watch Peanut Butter Falcon tonight. I'd watch it a hundred times before I sat through Rose Tico on the casino planet or her sexually assaulting an unconscious Finn again.

I legitimately lol'ed when she Mary Poppinsed through space. Hilarious
I almost can’t even watch the clip without feeling an uncomfortable cringiness.

I rewatched them recently in an act of self flagellation
One thing I just can’t wrap my mind around, is how executives, producers, or other decision makers watched the final cut of this film and said “yep boys, we got a winner here.”

TFA was entertaining and held out promise for a decent sequel
Boom, you nailed it. It gave us all hope. Like when LSU would have a good first quarter against Bama for so many years. And then that hope got shite on.

I immediately thought of the opening scene of Thor: Ragnarok where he is talking to Surtur while chained up and I physically groaned.
Cheesy Thor has a significant amount of history behind it. Love and Thunder was bad , Ragnarok was good, but Thor classically has been pretty funny:

Disney screwed the pooch the moment they declared the Expanded Universe as non-canon.

It was cringey, millennial humor Thor.
It was literally the same scene as the Poe “your mama” jokes scene.
It was bad.

I’m all for recasting Luke and Solo…. All of them for a . Complete reboot……. Do the series over 15-20 years for continuity……
Disney will NEVER learn. Hollywood will NEVER listen. Kathleen Kennedy ruined the most beloved movie IP in history but Lucas is the real hero for selling it…….

I looked most of 7 except the Planet that's really a Death Star and the Resistance not being the Reoublic.
