I thought the same thing but if you think about it she has spent a lot of time with Littlefinger, Tyrion and even Cersei at the beginning. That’s some of the smartest, politically savvy people on the show.
I don’t think she is the smartest but she could’ve been fooling everyone. If you remember from the first season all she cared about was being a queen.

She's not even the smartest person on HBO. That goes to North Hollywood Henry (smarter person).

My take from the conversation was Arya sticking up for her family. Not that she actually believes it.
And when you actually consider her travel partners and that Tywin is dead it’s really not even a stretch.

Honeslty, I think it's to show more of a disconnect between Jon and the other Northerners than anything else.

To be fair, Sansa did ask the most logical question in the entire episode - how are we feeding 10k Unsullied and like 100k Dothraki?
