It'll be an entertaining Nolan film. If you like his films, you'll enjoy it. If you don't like his style, this likely won't do anything to change your mind.

I really don't care that Lupita is playing Helen. She's a good actress and will do well with the role. And I said this in the other threads, I'm not buying the rumor that Page is playing Achilles. I think that's pure nonsense

She breaks immersion immediately and makes the whole thing a joke

how anyone could sit through this and not be distracted by her presence and the political motive here is beyond me. If they say they aren't, that's just a lie

I think I'll be able to do it because she's a minor character in the book.

It's going to be a small role. Now if he changes the story and Helen is a major character then yes, it'll be a distraction, for both story adaption reasons and race swap reasons.

As anything but a side freak and this is a huge joke where Hollywood is just laughing at everyone.

What bums me out the most is I absolutely loved reading The Iliad and The Odyssey as a teen. I've been a fan of Greek mythology since I was a little kid watching Clash of the Titans with my dad. Hearing Nolan and The Odyssey and i was all in. I will not give my money to this nonsense. I know I'll likely watch it on streaming eventually unless everyone beats it up more after it actually comes out.

I don't care for your wife's taste in literature. Now post pics so we can see if she has any redeeming qualities.

Pretty sure he was saying that he wouldn’t take stock in it until it was studio confirmed.

He is doing what he needs to do to attain the budget for his film to be made. Period.

Yes, at first. Eventually I changed my tune. Check out some of the other threads. She's actually sitting right next to Bernthal in the very first trailer. I had missed that. It's clear she's playing his wife

Why not do it, he’s not adapting the real story anyway so go wild.

I’m good with my assessment of 2 as a disappointment.

Black Panther 2 was put into a difficult position because of Chadwick's death. They should have recast the role instead of doing what they did with the story.

Nyong'o is objectively attractive

i dont think you know what objectively means
I don't know who she is, but I thought the name might be Asian and was worried it was the heavy-set Asian girl from one of the bad Star Wars movies. Objectively attractive may mean something like "At least she isn't that woman". The pictures of the Nyong lady make her look really thin, especially her chest.

They knew & chose this script anyway. They even said they were going for a female BP before he passed!

So committed to the M-She-U agenda.

Probably the most evil display in Hollywood ever.

I think we might have gotten to the stage where Nolan is too full of his own bullshite to accept the criticism necessary to make this kind of complicated movie.

There's too many things wrong with the casting and language to bother discussing. An epic is meant to be epic, not sound like dialogue from Lassie. Say what you want about the flaws but Troy nails a lot of things Nolan appears to have whiffed on badly.

You are so fricking disingenuous, do you really not see the difference in those two movies? A BP movie without the Black Panther because the actor died and the movie still made $859 million and thats a disappointment.
