Have a few like minded people that went and saw it and said they rolled their eyes at Ellen Page but that she’s a minor annoyance. They all said the entire movie is amazing.

Lupita and Elliot Page are a bit jarring and neither is that good, so not sure why they needed to be cast, but if they ruin your enjoyment of the movie you need to reevaluate your life.
They’re in a combined like 5 min of the movie and have 20 lines of dialogue. Also everyone in the film speaks with American accent and they use colloquialisms like “dad” and “stuff.”
Nolan isn’t going for historical accuracy in the strictest sense. It’s a sword and sandals movie using modern sensibility

Yes. Like I said, Spiderman coming out next weekend will be the concern. I would think it would need to have made more than 500 by then if it's going to make its budget back, but maybe not. Perhaps Spiderman and The Odyssey don't have a lot of crossover audience.

A billion would be surprising for an R rated movie with Spiderman coming up, but it definitely is possible. Going to have to keep up the pace this weekend for sure if it's going to hit that.
Not to mention while there is only so many screens and theaters, I think people underestimate how much capacity is out there (see Barbieheimer). I mean Dune 3 and Doomsday are literally opening the same day, and both will likely be huge hits.

Yeah I would expect the 40 theaters in the world that can show this film as intended to be showing it for a minute.

I mean in terms of world wide box office, it’s opened over 40% higher than Oppenheimer (Japan, South Korea, and China yet to open but I suspect it was do better in Japan than Oppenheimer for obvious reasons) and Oppenheimer made nearly a billion ($976 million), so it doesn’t need to even come close to the legs of Oppenheimer to hit a billion (roughly $1.4 billion with the same legs).
