I’ll give it a few days and may watch it again. Maybe get to a real imax. But as of right now…. I think this is Nolan’s most complete film.

Started off a bit shaky but quickly found its footing. The shots… the action… the casting…. Just wonderful.

I was worried about the casting of the Trans Girl, but in reality, while her part was importantly to the story… she wasn’t in the movie enough to be upset.

As for the black chick being Helen of Troy… I mean I don’t think I’d launch a boat for her but whatever. I think if you switch her part with Theron’s part there would be very few complaints overall.

Regardless

My current Nolan list has this sitting at the top over my all time favorite until now, interstellar.

As for stories about the Odyssey or in close relation. I’d rate them

-O Brother Where Art Thou
-The Odyssey
-Troy.

Spoiler:

Yes it impacts him because he lives with regret. That doesn’t mean they pretended she was this incredible warrior

I think they did a good job of making her into a weak soldier and nothing more than a shield bearer. The fact that her story ends the way it does, in fact does drive the narrative… but again. It didn’t take away from the movie. If anything it proves that trannies have no place in war because they’re just cannon fodder.

It’s not a troll. It was well done across the board.

I voted for Trump 3 times and if it were legal for him to run for more terms I’d probably vote for him again.

I like UFC, steak, whole milk, mowing the lawn….

Some of you so bad want to see a liberal agenda in anything… and I assure you that if you really want that you will always find it.

Nolan made a fine piece and I think in 10 years it will be highly regarded.

But I hold to my statement that “O brother where art thou” is better.

As I said, nice troll.

The reviews from non-political people regarding the film are astonishingly bad. This adaptation of The Odyssey is a woke disaster.

I’ve seen some clips online that are astonishingly bad.

And not for any of the bullshite “woke” reasons the other retards are saying. The cast, outside of Pattinson, look woefully bad

No, I just don’t factor in irrelevant qualifiers because they’re irrelevant.

It’s a bad movie. Poorly done all the way around. The made-for-TV version of The Odyssey from the 90s was far better.

I does look good but the editing is terrible and the costume design is bad. So the temple or hall scenes the structures looks great, the ships on the sea look great, landscape looks great but costumes, armor, cyclops look terrible.

I get not liking some of the costumes. That’s a valid argument. If you want era appropriate then some of them could take you out. But Cyclops looking bad? There’s no way man. No CGI on that cyclops is one of the more impressive visual feats in modern film history. Not the film overall obviously but Cyclops in itself was incredible.

The look of it was poorly designed, especially the face and it moved badly, men had to run under or into its feet when it would step on or kick someone. As far as it not being CGI, fine but for animatronic type creatures Jaws moved better in the 70s so I don’t know if it’s some historic feat.
