I’ve seen some clips online that are astonishingly bad.

What clips?

It's okay to use your speech-to-text function to just say, "I ignore things I don't understand."

Red Letter Media is in the tank for Universal and Christopher Nolan!

I think it’s interesting that I’m getting downvoted for asking when someone saw a movie and what clips used to determine that the film looked awful.

They are pretty simple reasonable questions

If you went and saw the movie this weekend and already posting about it that indicates very likely that you were anticipating the movie and most people willing to spend money to sit in a crowded theater on opening weekend went into expecting it to be good.

Additionally given it just came out a couple of days ago it would be surprising to have a bunch more scenes besides the previews going around the internet.

Many if not all of the posters saying it was terrible were also talking about how awful it was going to be based on the previews and casting.

So it would seem odd to have spent money to hate watch something in a crowded opening weekend theater

I didn’t like it based on it being weirdly modern and not well thought out in some weird ways.

Also, it’s sanitizing the frick out of Odysseyus…. The guy Homer called “the raider of cities,” and an unrepentant pirate who had sex slaves….

Jumping into smears and insults because your argument holds no water. How predictable.

I like how you debunked your own narrative. Impressive

Im asking riverside when he saw it.

I can imagine you jumped at the chance to rage watch the movie.

It’s weird to me but I just didn’t think there were that many.

Yes, I can see that’s where your assertions and allegations stem from.

As I said, nice troll.

You continuing to say something doesn’t make it all of a sudden true.

I don’t care what others are reviewing it at. I’m saying it was great.

Go see it. Or don’t. I don’t care. Regardless stop being a massive pussy arse bitch.

An understandable problem if that’s what you were hoping for…. But it’s hard to make a hero out of that type of person.

Deadline already has it making over $120 million. I don't think the World Cup Final is going to impact viewings as much in the United States as it will other places. I think it finishes between $123-125 million by Monday morning.

No bad performances pretty solid all around, but Pattinson, Damon, Hathaway and Leguizamo all stood out the most

Maybe it’s just me but it didn’t bother me at all.

In fact using the old “use a British actor to speak with a British accent” that majority of ancient setting historical epics do bring me out of it rather than bring into it.

Take for instance Les Mis. Why is it “more realistic” to have people speaking English with a British accent when it’s French characters in France.

Hence why do I need Ancient Greeks to speak “high English”

Just my thoughts on it.

The problem with the dialogue is when the actors bring energy or expression to the modern lines the words don’t line up with the energy. The expansion and extension of phrases in the modern vernacular lessons the need for the actors to emphasize or even play with the phrases. In other words, more words equal less emoting so we get this unevenness with dialogue and delivery. To me that was the worst part of the movie in isolation.

You could contextualize it more.

Instead in this movie here you have a main character who makes no sense.

We see him being traumatized after sacking Troy but then we see him raiding a peaceful city and then every time after that he takes the moral high ground in every scene afterwards. It’s weird storytelling
