Well I just got out and I was expecting it to be above average to good. It wasn’t. It’s not the worst movie ever made or anything like that but it’s not good.

That's unfortunate. I'm sure it looks awesome, but I don't care about that as much. I don't go watch Avatar movies because simply "looking awesome" isn't enough for me.

I does look good but the editing is terrible and the costume design is bad. So the temple or hall scenes the structures looks great, the ships on the sea look great, landscape looks great but costumes, armor, cyclops look terrible.

Yeah the costumes do look bad from what I've seen.

It’s actually pretty good
I actually busted out laughing in the opening few minutes

News flash, nobody will be talking about the Odyssey a year from now either.
Rare, but I agree. His argument is asinine. He's begrudging the history of perceived DEI in film, but wants the argument to stick to one movie when it doesn't go his way.

The costumes in the trailer for "Children of Blood and Bone" or whatever it's called look way better than the costumes I've seen from The Odyssey.
I won't be going to watch that movie either, but that's pretty irrelevant to whether or not the costumes look good.

That would be nice but let's not act like the social climate is the same as even when Prince of Persia was filmed

No problems with the sound where I saw it which was a pleasant surprise

Saw it this morning. Was expecting a liberal/progressive slant on the Odyssey, instead learned the crucial role of organized religion in maintaining western civilization. They can call it "Zeus's Law", but come on, we all recognize the golden rule of Luke 6:3 - Do to others as you would have them do to you. Chris Nolen is preaching the gospel, if you're willing to listen.

This makes it sound like it’s impossible to enjoy.
Whether or not you choose to write off or be upset about a movie due to the race of the actors minor characters is entirely on you
Just like you or I weren’t upset or less immersed on viewing prince of Persia starring Jake Gyllenhall or The Ten Commandments starring Charlton Heston and Yul Brenner.
The choices did a good job and were up to the task and once again so minor that it doesn’t make any difference in the quality of the movie.
This isn’t James Bond starring Emma Watson.
I want to reward good movies that are fun to watch. This is a good movie and fun to watch.

Probably accurate. There aren't any quotas to hit when you book an almost completely black cast.

How about ignore the context and go into like it’s 1956, there isn’t an online uproar, and watch a fun movie.
Maybe. Just maybe. Christopher nolan wanted to make a good movie and filled it with actors and actresses he likes because he thinks it would make an enjoyable movie and people who can profit off of rage decided to highlight anything they see as “flawed”
The way you're painting this is completely dishonest about the intent.

I haven't watched it yet so I won't pass judgement but it is fair to say there is some forced bs in a possibly very good movie. You've got a women pretending to be a man as a great warrior in a movie that of this stature.

I’m going to avoid spoilers but the character that she plays is in no way portrayed as a great warrior.

Most important soldier in the movie

Just because the circumstances impacted Odysseus doesn’t mean that Juno played a great warrior.
Spoilers
Do you think it is the usual practice of armies to intentionally sacrifice great warriors?
