but I understand why it is hard for those who only had limited interaction with him from the short time on screen in the OT.

He back story could be one of the greatest and probably the one most demanded to see on the big screen over the last 50 decades. He became a legend without being a main character.

Yes. I am an OG Stars Wars trilogy girl. (Old lady now?) The original Star Wars (I cannot abide the New Hope thing) came out when I was in HS. Empire was when I was in college. I didn't even watch the 3 prequels till many years after it came out. I did see the last 2 that everyone seems to hate so much in the theater. I've not watched any of the other shows except for Mandalorian, mostly because Baby Yoda was so cute. I don't know who any of these side characters really are. I also mostly don't care. So I would never watch Boba Fett. I'm old school, so no animated series for me. I don't like things to feel like I'm watching comics, so not a fan of DC or Marvel either.

If I hadn't seen the OG films when they first came out, I highly doubt I'd be a Star Wars fan. I can't imagine I'm the only one like this.

I liked seeing Babu and his pals

I thought Grogu was space tripping with the shadows. The hyper space squid whales seem cool.

I thought it was hokey when Mando arrived just in the knick of time to blast the big dino croc

*** I did not understand the killer bot deal. I can understand he needed backup. Babu tells him he needs to find a memory chip, processor, whatever. He leaves to go find part. Now he's abandoning finding the missing part? Just going to Mandalore on his own?

It’s a side quest. Like a video game. Go find the thing that leads you to the next mission. The main quest is his weird religion thing. The side quest is nobody has a character conclusion in media anymore if people like them. It’s the entire reason Grogu is still on the show.

Finally was able to watch this one. The whole pirates thing stand off was weird and we've seen it before in this show. There's no tension in that. Mando has mowed down plenty of losers like that and taken out way stronger opponents. It was an OK episode.

Asteroid belt was awesome. Scene with Bo was cool. Show is so good but could be better. Seems to be coasting and not willing to take any risks with its show formula, hence why they couldn't even wait a damn season before bringing Grogu back. And now they're bringing back IG-11. Need some stakes this season. Nick Nolte bit the dust and we thought IG-11 and we thought we lost Grogu at the end of Season 2. But two of those are now back. I think they're setting up Chubs to die. Someone close to Mando has to at this point since they're clearly not ready to take risks narratively and character wise by having Mando be solo for a while.

You dont necessarily need character deaths all the time for there to be stakes, but considering Mando voluntarily took off his helmet for Grogu just goes to show that being a Mandalorian isn't his top priority, anymore. So why should we care about his Mandalorian redemption?

I agree. He's doing too well 1 episode into the season for him not to have a huge crash to earth at some point.

Because Disney sells more action figures with helmets on, that is the way

Why are so many star wars fans so adverse to watching boba?

I watched it and liked it but I think a lot of OG SW fans don't like how they portrayed the character. To me it felt like they neutered the character. He had his badass moments but too often he was "talking" instead of being an "enforcer" so to speak.

That, in a nutshell.

Boba Fett was the cool, mysteriously dangerous guy. Man of action, few words. I respect that they brought back the original actor (ok, not technically the ORIGINAL guy), but at this point he's an old, bald fat dude that doesn't do much. Hell, he relies on Ming to be his muscle, and hires a bunch of hipsters. Original Boba Fett would have killed them all... so we were led to believe.

I agree, Mando is much more that character now, and it just stands out all the more in contrast to that.

I'm hoping I don't need to watch Boba Fett to understand season 3.

I think everyone's made it pretty clear that it's the last three episodes of the show, and they're basically more episodes of The Mandalorian.

I feel like those people aren't even star wars fans. They are just fans of the baby yoda doll. Most probably can't tell you his name.

It was a very boring episode. I understand they had to do set up but it could have been accomplished in half the time.

I also don’t know what they are doing with Pre Vizla (he was in the scene with the kid getting his helmet). He just seems to be there. I assume he’ll challenge Din again for the dark saber.

That’s my only real complaint about the series…the side quest aspect is so overdone.

We were watching last night and when the chip came up my 12 yr old said “Side quest accepted - find the lost chip”

Then when Apollo told him to to go to whatever planet he said “side guest planet has been added to your map”

Also…has anyone noticed that Apollo Creed would also be a good Star Wars name?
