Fav said they wrote Season 4 during post production of season 3. Either way it looks like we are headed towards stand alone adventures agin each episode.

In regard to the movie it sounds like it may come out sooner then later

I’m pretty sure they are turning the Rangers of the Republic into season 4

I think they were gonna use Rangers of the New Republic to flesh out a lot of that shadow council storyline.

The cynic in me thinks that RotNR got canceled bc the storyline aims to retcon most of the sequel trilogy. That bitch KK doesn't want her work being minimized. But all the fans wish it could just be erased.

There is rumored to be a show coming on Mandalore so I think the episode set the tone for that one.

This is why this is failing. They have great components for a good show, like Boba and Bo, Ashoka and the kid but they take these elements and try to spin them into a whole new show instead of having them as good components to the show they already have.

Because this is corporate entertainment. They have to go for the money play 100% of the time. 'Obligation to our stockholders' and all that shite. It's more lucrative to have 5 mediocre shows instead of one really good show.

They are using the Marvel template. But they don't have a Kevin Feige, they have Kathleen Kennedy.

Fans have always said that the Star Wars universe is huge and that there are plenty of stories to be told outside of the Skywalkers. With good writing they could deliver incredible stories. But instead Disney will use the new stories to introduce more shitty girl power storylines.

I was thinking the other day, the next time I see a man and a woman in a physical confrontation I'm gonna expect the woman to whip his arse bc that's what I see on TV every single day.

Since we didn’t actually see him die, I’ll bet Darth Obama is still alive.

He has the armor now and we saw Boba survive the sarlac pit. So it's possible. But didn't the starship basically fall on top of him? If his armor can protect him then what was the point of Grogu saving Bo and Din? It would be dumb to let Giddeon live, again. So I'll expect that we'll see him again.

Now you’re thinking like a Star Wars writer!

I don’t think we see Gideon again, at least that Gideon. Wouldn’t surprise me if those weren’t the only clones he had. Kind of funny though that we have been theorizing that he was cloning Snoke for years, and it just ended up being him.

I thought that was a really good finale. The scene where R5 was opening the shields and Din was taking them out two by two was awesome. Everything around Grogu and the force was good. I liked Bo with the darksaber. I still don’t know who the spy was, but I’m glad it wasn’t the Armorer.

In regards to the movie that got the green light

quote:

from Star Wars Celebration, Filoni’s film "will focus on the New Republic, and "close out" the interconnected stories that are told in series including The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and other Disney+ shows." Interesting! It sounds like a very Avengers-esque way to say goodbye to the first wave of Star Wars on Disney+. You have to imagine that—whatever story will be told in this film—it'll truly launch Grogu's arc in the greater Star Wars universe. (Blaster to my head, LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy sees The Mandalorian as the kid's origin story. Especially if Rey's new film will see her rebuilding the Jedi order.)

Team Gideon - who or what is he cloning? There are cloning tanks in his base but he specifically said he isn’t interested in Necromancer. Seems threatened by Thrawn’s name drop but also wary of Hux. I was thinking they were possibly setting up Snoke as an alternate cloning attempt by Gideon instead of a stepping stone in Necromancer to get Palp, but it doesn’t explain Hux Jr’s loyalty to Snoke and the versions of Snoke in ep 9 opening.

Another random idea, I thought when Gideon was talking about his dark troopers now having vescar armor in the last episode, he said that now the only thing that was missing was him in the armor. I was under the impression that his cloning plans involved cloning himself to put in the vescar armor, and making his cloned troops force sensitive since he had grogu's blood. Basically an army of dark jedi in vescar armor.

(Didn't see the finale yet, so apologies)

I have a feeling the imperial remnants will launch a huge attack on the New Republic led by Thrawn, and be soundly defeated. Hux will somehow appropriate Pershing's research and retreat with it into the Unknown Regions after the eventual defeat of Thrawn.

The New Republic will consider the defeat of the Thrawn led imperials the end of the Empire, and that is why they will largely ignore Leia's concerns about First Order activity in the Unknown Regions.

I mean, Gideon beat the frick out of Bo and wrecked her precious darksaber. It took ol' boy to drive a a fricking starship into him to kill him.

I doubt it will take the Armorer long to reforge it. Disney could sell even more toys.

Great finale. Really enjoyed it. Loved the jet pack combat scenes.

Easter Egg: Dave Filoni was in the New Republic bar at the end of the episode.

To be fair, he also kicked the crap out of Din. His suit was powered though.

All this time, I thought Din was Mando's first name. Turns out, it is his surname.

But who knows, it might even turn out to be a title, like Darth or Moff is in Star Wars. Of course, I didn't know they were titles until Maul & Gideon showed up.

dull. that’s all i can say about it.

i don’t understand why i’m just the last episode he pledges his loyalty to bo, then bails out to his own place after mandalor is reclaimed.
