Perhaps, instead of having to fight him for the Dark Saber, they could get married?
I know corny, but obviously Mando isn't going anywhere, and I'd like to see Sackoff's character stick around, too.
And Mando can get to baby making like he clearly wants.

Very well aware of their shows.
That doesnt change how Lucasfilm will treat the Sequels, no matter how much we dislike some/all of them.
Disney would throw the sequels in the trash tomorrow if you told them that retconning them out of existence would see a new trilogy only double what the sequels made in addition to a toy/merc line that people ACTUALLY want.
The Mouse loves money.
Anything related to the Sequels isn’t making a damn thing. The sequel Lego line seems tiny AF. No action figures. A failed theme park.
Again. The Mouse. Loves. Money.
They’ll wipe their arse with the film reel for more dolla dolla bills y’all.

What exactly do you think he's not allowed to do?
To overwrite current canon material with time travel?
He isn’t in charge of Lucasfilm, he can’t run any story he wants.
The sequels made money, but not as much as Marvel Stage 3... and put the franchise on some shaky ground. Fans everywhere first revolted, and then started to fade and drift off.
Favreau and Filoni have reinvigorated the franchise, and they seem to have some idea where they are going.
After today's episode and the reviews come in, you better believe there will be discussions among the Powers That Be.
There has to be some loophole or mulligan concept involving Thrawn and Ezra, and I suspect the discussions are going to bypass Kennedy entirely. The questions will be along the lines of:
Are you CERTAIN you can make this work?
Here's a suggestion- through the World Between Worlds, Luke can foresee Palpatine's efforts to corrupt his nephew, and move on Exegol to stop him beforehand.
Him knowing of this beforehand already alters the timeline, and with the assistance of Ezra and Ahsoka, he can dispel the toxic power of the Sith before it takes hold.
This doesn't "overwrite" canon, any more than Endgame overwrote Infinity War (and Loki now being alive again). There will still be some consequences (the First Order maybe), but the overall storyline is corrected- Luke's Jedi Order isn't sabotaged.

Do we know the Boba project is actually a miniseries, and not just a Disney+ original movie in the same vein as El Camino? For some reason, that’s what I thought it was gonna be after the end credits.
I feel like they could wind down Boba’s story in like 2 hours. We don’t need 2 series about bounty hunters.
It may be that season 3 is boba's journey now? Everything was pretty much resolved.

Why is Sabine Wren allowed to gift the dark saber to Bo Katan before leaving to go find Ezra, but Mando can’t give the dark saber to Bo Katan?

Did they retcon the sequels?

I feel like at some point in the future, we will see Grogu again..he will have had time to train and become stronger with the force and learn to control his abilities. He has to come and save Mando out of a bad spot. He owes Mando at least one or two of those at this point.

If it leads to retconning TFA, TLJ, and TROS....yes.

As I mentioned above, Sabine didn’t get the saber by defeating anyone. She just recovered it from the Night Sisters lair. Though the whole story angle still doesn’t make sense there.

He’s going to take bounty jobs, go kill some creatures, deal with traitorous scumbags, and kill them all in spectacular fashion....everything we get in the Mandalorian.
I disagree ever so slightly. I think the Boba spin off will explore more of the seedy underworld of the Star Wars universe. You get a small taste of it in the Mandalorian, but the main focus has always been some sort of conflict with the Empire. With Fett setting up shop back on Tatooine, they are free to go in a completely different direction. Don’t forget that Obi Wan told Luke that he’d never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than the Mos Eisley spaceport there. It just makes sense to take the new series off in that direction and explore lawless underbelly that we know exists but haven’t actually explored.

Agreed. Bo Katan didn’t defeat anyone either, but was happy to accept it. It should work that way again.

I don’t think they’re going to away with Grogu almost completely. He’s probably the most liked character. And while this show isn’t one of those mostly fan service shows, they still know he’s a character people want to see. Although he won’t have a regular episode part, I can still see him being a major part of the finale next season. Maybe they’ll have a time jump.

The Clone Wars was great, but this was better!

Not only that but this is how you create a bad arse female gang. What Endgame did was laughable and eye roll worthy. I didn’t even realize the crew was all female until they got to the bridge and it’s bc Filoni and Favreau put in the time to flesh out these CHARACTERS. Gender be damned.
And this is how the whole fricking world would work if left alone. In business, in battle, etc, nobody gives a damn with your male/female, gay/straight, black/white/purple. The world just cares if you DO YOUR frickING JOB!!!
This was perfect! And Luke! I was 15 when Star Wars came out. I was nearly jumping up and down during the last part! So much awesome!!!

Seeing a lot of Grogu stuff in Taiwan lately. I would see the occasional BB8 or Kylo stuff but nowhere near as much as I am seeing Grogu and Mando.
I assume Boba will have a resurgence as well in the home of Boba Tea.
This show has absolutely been a cash cow for Disney.

Seeing Luke show up and fricking wreck shop was amazing and I have nothing against that at all.
But I can’t be the only one that was kinda hoping that it would’ve been someone else too.

How did mark hamill age back in time ?????
Jon Favreau as a young man knew he was destined to make this show. He reached out to Mark Hamill and convinced him in 1985 to film the segment knowing that he'd need that footage in 35 years to wrap up the Grogu storyline he was envisioning.
R2-D2 was a freebie because of Hamill's fame at the time. He was given a set prop to keep from Return of the Jedi and decided to bring it along because he's just a good guy like that.
