But only because it reminded me of the acoustic version from A-ha that came out a few years ago (2017)
Thanks for linking that! I never heard that version before, it is beautiful!

So ignoring what it obviously is you're just going to whine about what it isn't because you didn't understand the reference?
No, I'm saying that it falls into the other things as well because of what it is. You say it's a nod to some other character. That's fine, great. But being what it is means it gets wrapped up in the other references as well. Hell, for all you know they chose to reference that character specifically because of the rainbow jacket. That's sort of my point...it's all one thing after another. Even if you take away that one, singular thing (the jacket) it doesn't erase all the other shite.

Bro what, she clearly isn't straight that's just you being hyper focused on her sexuality also you seem weirdly focused on Ellie's looks despite claiming you're not.
She clearly isn't straight now. I agree. She was before, was she not? They actually made a point of that previously when we see Ellie sort of catch feelings for her but she was with Jesse.
And I am not focused on her looks at all. I am simply saying that it seems like a stretch that this chick is into her, and looks play a part of that. And like I thought I explained above, if she was some awesome person I could even buy that. but everything about her is abrasive and a-hole-ish. So forgive me if I feel like it's forced because from where I'm sitting there's no reason whatsoever that Dina would want to be romantically involved with Ellie. Outside of "It happened in the game" and them sticking fervently to that, nothing about it makes sense to me. But that's just me...if it makes sense to you, that's all good.
Bro.

My guy you're overanalyzing a freaking joke. Why are you so hyper focused on this and the fact that Ellie and Dina are together? You seem more obsessed with "woke" than you do anything else and it really dilutes any other points you make which some points you made are actually legitimately good ones.
If you want, I'm sure I can find a list of all the "woke" things throughout this show. I'm not the one focused on it...the show is. I'm the one consuming it for entertainment and constantly questioning why I'm doing so because it is stupid, not overly entertaining in most spots, and littered with woke shite.
When there are numerous things throughout every episode that are woke or woke-adjacent, I'm somehow the one to blame for being turned off by that? Maybe my use of woke is triggering you. So if I change that to dumb or stupid, would that be better? I think it's stupid that Dina is now bi (or really maybe full up gay) and in love with Ellie, because Ellie is an unattractive, terrible person. I think it's stupid that women seem to be in charge of everything.
And I griped about lots of things in my long post. If I had to guess I'd say I listed maybe ten different things that I didn't like or thought were stupid. But you seem to only focus on the woke ones, which were like one or two maybe. But suddenly I'm the one hyper focused on it? If they continuously make her gayness and her budding relationship a main point on my TV screen, am I not supposed to notice that? I know Joel was straight, and they didn't shove that fact down my throat every other scene. Why are they doing it with Ellie? If you think woke/gayness isn't a focal point of this show, then we can just agree to disagree because it's been prevalent for a large part of the show now IMO. At last half of these last two episodes have been about gay love. So let's call that one episode's worth. S1 had the episode dedicated to that as well. So as of today, 2/14 or 1/7 of the episodes have basically been purely dedicated to show gay love play out on the screen. But I'm the one "focused on sexuality"?

I have no issue with them being gay but they have beat it to death and it has almost nothing to do with the actual story. If anything it derails the actual story because Ellie is supposed to be hell bent on finding and killing abby, not sniffing her fingers.

I feel bad for laughing at that.

All I know is I opened the thread the other day and saw a picture of Ellie as Kevin James and just about lost my shite.

You've seen the men that Christie Brinkley and Paulina Porizkova married, right?
Sometimes it's not about someone's looks.

That poster went into detail about that

I might go get the second game so I can have that ending instead of whatever they plan to give us in season 3.
Making this quick since there isn't supposed to be any game discussion. If you haven't been a gamer in a while then I honestly recommend playing it because of how fluid everything feels. It's very cutthroat and heavy feeling at times as well.
That being said, it is lengthy so you could just watch all the cutscenes on YouTube.

That happened in episode 2 when they murdered Ellie's dad right in front of her and then left
On foot. Left the horses and walked to Seattle

The wife just summed up that episode: "that makes you miss Jole that much more."
