Seems like they exaggerated what 20 years of neglect would do to a city.
The creatures are pretty cool.

How is it exaggerated?

Hell no. I know nothing about the games at all. Just thinking out loud in the non-gamer thread.

Remember though, it had been bombed as well

A building isn’t just going to fall over because of 20 years of no maintenance. This isn’t idiocracy.

They did mention that cities were bombed to slow the spread

They did. And maybe I’m being nitpicky, but a bomb isn’t going to cause a building to just lay up against another building.

I assume the implication is that this started in Indonesia... I don't know why the scientists first instinct is to bomb Jakarta. Indonesia, in theory, is among the easiest places in the world to isolate. Just seal it off- you can even limit this quarantine to only Java

Yes, in the first episode they mentioned hearing something on the news about some issue going on in Jakarta while they were eating breakfast.

I mean I doubt an Indonesian scientist would think just letting everyone in Indonesia die would be a good thing. they wanted to bomb the city to save the rest of the country in theory

I think it was pretty strongly implied by the scientist's reaction that they were past the point of quarantine. When they said there were 14 other people missing, she knew it was too late to stop it with a quarantine.

This show really needs a Silicon Valley on afterwards to bring my heart rate back down.

Yeah but he's saying it's literally an island. Just seal it off.

I'd assume they did both and neither worked

and what does that do for the people stuck on that island in other cities? nothing. hence the bombing the city with the cases.

yeah, presumably they had already shipped some of the contaminated flour out of the country before quarantine

my only minor complaint about the episode is why wouldn't they explain to Ellie that they could hear but they couldn't see BEFORE they were face to face with some of the clickers
minor grump, i know
minor grump, i know

Anybody else just creeped the frick out with these monsters? Regular gore does not bother me in the least but this shite coming out of their mouths and eyes is just doing a mind frick on me. Almost makes me nauseous.

Came to say this. The clickers are very very well done. Didn’t have nightmares but had some messed up dreams last night. So they have hive mind but are they all interacted or just one common strand? Like are all the clickers in Boston under one brain or just a certain strand that is linked? Or are they all linked period? After seeing them go for Joel/Elle/Tess at the end made me think I’d never ever leave the QZ ever in this scenario. Also when Tess “kissed” the other clicker
. Can’t wait for next week where Ron Swanson looks like he’ll be playing the part of Ron Swanson.
