Maybe I'm in the minority but I want more of the Exorcist TV series w/more of Father Marcus and Father Tomas killing demons hiding inside the Church.

That reminds me of the show Evil. My wife watches it and it's better than what I'd expect from network TV. The best/most interesting angle is the secret Vatican investigator guys. THAT would be a great set up for a series.

Yeah it was a tad bit like Evil except they would have a season long case rather than almost always solving every investigation in the 45 minute runtime of each episode.

There are only two seasons and both are on Hulu right now. Season 2 ended on a mild cliffhanger w/a few loose threads still ongoing but it's nothing so bad that it would wreck your enjoyment of the series.

Is this a Righteous Gemstones crossover? I saw Aimee-Leigh in the church

Trailer looked pretty silly. I guess little girls that are possessed by a demon isn't all that scary to me anymore.

Especially if you have teenage daughters

Meh. There are some interesting concepts in the trailer, but it's loaded with the annoying cliché strobe effect of shaking heads and the cgi takes away from the look of the kids. A big part of what made the original Exorcist so great is the amazing makeup and filming technique that brought authenticity to the moments. This feels way too artificial.

Agreed. I'm always wary of showing too many effects and "shocking" moments like that in a trailer anyway. It makes me question how much else the movie really has going for it.

The original trailers for The Exorcist, whether it be the famous flashing face one or the more traditional one, only showed fleeting images of Regan. There was no spinning head or green puke shown. It made Regan's appearance and behavior more disturbing and terrifying when seen for the first time.

I lol’d at inserting a black teenage girl to be another Reagan.

Hollywood just can’t contain themselves anymore.

They introduced Regan and her mom right when it started playing. Hope this is good.

Saw this before Oppenheimer. Seemed a bit over the top imo but I don't watch a ton of modern horror.

The best part of the trailer is the original theme and Ellen Burstyn reprising her role as Chris McNeil.

Everything else looks pretty generic.

I didn't care for the trailer and won't be seeing the movie based on that. It seems like a horror movie marketed more towards the 15-25 year old crowd with jump and shock scares rather than atmospheric tension building. Definitely using the Exorcist name and bringing Ellen Burstyn back to sell more tickets rather than show respect to what The first movie established. This could have been any other horror movie with any other name.

I don't know. They've made some good and some bad ones.

I wouldn't get too excited. The dude that wrecked Halloween (Kills and Ends) is behind the helm.

The same guy who was behind Eastbound & Down and Righteous Gemstones, oddly enough.

I liked the 2018 Halloween movie but I heard the sequels were awful so I didn’t bother.

Looks ok. Poficient but probably not memorable. Part of what made the original so effective was that it didn't have the sheen of a Hollywood film. This one does, so it feels too much like product.
