She’s claiming her appearance change is caused by Graves’ disease. I’ll leave that to the TD doctors to assess.

I'm watching the first episode of this season. I can't believe how much the Starlight chick fricked up her face. She was a cute girl, once upon a time.

No doctor, but apparently it's possible based on the noted symptoms of the disease:
quote:
Common symptoms include anxiety, weight loss, tremors, rapid heartbeat, and heat sensitivity.
quote:
Gender: Women are significantly more likely to develop Graves' disease than men, with a lifetime risk of roughly 3% for women compared to 0.5% for men.
Seems women are at a much higher risk than men... 3% is a pretty substantial number (meaning that over 5 million women in the US will end up with it).
It typically happens between the ages of 40 to 60, but I'm sure other factors can play a role. Because of her age, she might have been misdiagnosed or ignored earlier symptoms thinking they were caused by other things. A lof of the symptoms can even be presumed to be caused by stress, which is probably more likely in women her age.
She shared she was diagnosed with it back in June of 2025.

do i need to watch Gen V in order to watch this last season
I would watch this recap video instead. He covers (only) the relevant parts of Gen V.

She may have Graves, but that isn’t what caused her facial changes unless it or treatment or mistreatment caused an emotional or mental state that made her think the surgery(s) was a good idea.
I guess in that line of thinking she may have believed the surgery would take the focus off the bulging of her eyes and her goiter, and it got out of hand.

I’m watching E1 now, and holy shite Kimiko’s bullshite fake dialogue is creeping me the frick out.
And I think Annie’s face is even more fricked up than it was last season. Good Lord.

It's like someone let their 15 yr old son write her lines.

And not just that but the dubbing makes it sound even more ridiculous.

Just started the season and she says she learned how to talk through TikTok so it makes sense. But the dubbing is weird

I can see why the snow flakes wouldn't like this show, but it's been the theme since season one.

Wow...this is crap. The writing went to shite, the characters are different, they switch from real world stuff to barely veiled references...the whole show I'm saying wtf? So hamfisted and heavy handed, zero nuance or subtlety.

I agree. It’s trash. I’m just watching bc I’m this far and have nothing else to watch. And I want to see how homelander bites it.
Only bright spot right now is Firecracker being trashy hot

And it irritates me how Hughie is so against Butcher all the time. Almost like he’s more against Butcher than Homelander. Homelander wants nothing more than to kill you and all your friends. Butcher does not. Quit being such a bitch and get in the game.
Is this how he is in the comics?

Barely any characters look the same, act the same, talk the same. The dialogue is awful, the in world logic has been abandoned, the stupid real world name drops are awful...I mean they talk about Peter Thiel and Elon and Obama and Taco Bell, but it's NNC instead of CNN?
The Worm character...okay so...dirt comes out his butt... but if that were the case the tunnel (far too small to wriggle through) would be filled back in with dirt...from his butt.
I mean nothing makes sense, there's no canon anymore, Kimiko's voice seems dubbed in, poorly.

I caught up last night and agree with this. Maybe he's mad with how much his girlfriend butchered her face.
I don't even remember why he hates Butcher so much anymore (anyone?).
MM still looks weird as frick to me with his Ozempic body (and teeth).
I don't know why, but I loved the absurdity of the whole Rock Hard thing. It was overly stupid and childish, but I admit that I chuckled every time he said something.

I said the same thing when watching that part. Seems like they could've done better with that logistically.
How many episodes are in this season? I know one of my gripes previously was that they are tapdancing around this whole "kill Homelander" thing for what seems like forever. Every single buildup has resulted in basically nothing. I presume this season should end with them finally killing him but wouldn't be surprised if there was some little easter egg type thing in the end that leaves him possibly alive.
I am enjoying this season more than the last one though...not sure where some of the gripes are coming from with the quality. I find it as enjoyable as the last several seasons, and likely the most enjoyable since maybe S2.

Season is just as bad as the last two. I’m tired of the cycle of we almost got him, but let’s take it away over and over again. Thank god this is the last season, I’m too invested at this point to quit now, but I am really over this show.

The Boys is basically what happens if the writers of Starfleet Academy had a higher budget and no implied network tv content limitations.
The writers are just regurgitating dumb arguments across everything they contribute to and do it with senseless morals. There is a place where its juat too much.
Homelander was interesting as a vague nationalist symbol. He's lame as a direct Trump metaphor.
