The prequels are terrible. The take that Dooku and Grievous are better than Vader and Tarkin is patently absurd.

The take that the acting by the leads is better in the prequels…

I just…

Did we watch the same thing?

your just inconsistent with what flaws you decide to overlook.

I dont know any Stat Wars fans who don’t like the OT, but there are flaws. It’s just good overall that we don’t get caught up in minutia.

We talk about minutia so much in this thread.

The leads in RotS vs ANH to be specific

Dooku and Grievous are better than Vader and Tarkin
Add Palpatine and Anakin

Yeah, they were WAY better then Vader and Tarkin in ANH. Absolutely. Not even close, really.

I dunno. I watched the prequel trilogy. What did you watch?

I like the prequels but saying they are better than the Mandalorian is absurd

Sure, movies made 40+ years ago while establishing the setting and world will have hiccups.

The difference is people grabbing the baton 40 years later don't have those same excuses. The world and lore is built for them.

Why don't you suspend disbelief???? It is a kids movie about space wizards!!!!!

That is what happens to old legendary properties with decades of lore and fandom.

You think there would not have been a shitstorm if Peter Jackson had made Frodo the villain of LotR. . .or said "naw the ring doesn't really have power, the ring is just a trinket"

or "Sauron was secretly good, and Gandalf was the real bad guy."

How's it coming with the whole "dark side vergeance created Anakin, because he turned to the dark side"

the acting (and action) in the prequels was bad. What makes them tolerable, even good, is that there's a wealth of information there, from the original creator, that fleshes out the world of those stories.
A Tolkien analogy would be The Silmarillion. It is chock full of great tales, but it reads like a history textbook. You don't read it for the style, but for the information you can derive. Same thing for the prequel trilogy.

Another Tolkien analogy would be that The Acolyte and other Disney stuff is like Rings of Power, and honestly anything else set in Middle Earth that Tolkien didn't conceive himself. These Star Wars shows and movies from Disney aren't Lucas.

Keep in mind, I am talking about specifically ANH and RotS.

The acting was average at best in ANH, but pretty solid for RotS (barring the Nooooooo stupidity). All told the overall acting was better in the OT than the prequels.

That is Mr. Star Wars, man

Don't question him!

But if you do, it is a kids thread about space wizards, and you need to suspend disbelief in his posts

Dumb shite like this is what loses all credibility for the hater criticisms.

He said a vergence can create life, not that every vergence will.

I pointed out that he said something stupid, and then responded to his stupidity by saying maybe the dark side created Anakin and that's why Tatooine was a desert.

how that managed to go over you and Roaad's heads is beyond me.

Maybe you can find a nerdrotic or critical drinker video to explain to you what facetious means.

Lucas has already confirmed the chosen one prophecy ended up being true as a result of Anakin’s own actions, and not because of who or what created him.

For sure. I also don’t think the Jedi are inherently evil in this show. They definitely fricked up but it wasn’t a massacre. They feel guilty because they are good by nature.

That’s cute you think they’ll be a season 2 of this crap.

Showrunner already sais that Darth Bane and the Rule of 2 will be introduced in Season 2.

I'mma need to think about that. Clone Wars cartoon is canon, right? I didn't feel like the father chose Anakin because he just had been doing some cool chosen one type shite, but chose Anakin because of what and who Anakin was.
