We just need to accept the fact that all of the production and creative talent in Hollywood has rotated over to indoctrinated progressive activists that believe their goal in life is to push DEI messages in media.

Who would’ve thought we’d all long for the days when we just had your run of the mill liberal directors and actors that wanted to give you a good story with subtle left leaning themes?

It's hilarious that they don't realize that LOTR fans are like 95% male. They're too fricking stupid to realize they're making something for people who don't exist.

The traditional studios need to diminish and be replaced by indies with funding, similar to how the TV networks have diminished in the age of streaming and cable before it.

They know exactly what they're doing. This isn't about making money or entertaining people.

Why does the franchise need this?

“The fans are gonna go nuts for this,” Serkis, who is not directly involved in the film but had recently watched it, told the crowd Tuesday as he introduced the footage. “You are the first people to see this, and boy, it’s an extraordinary piece of work.”

After the segment was well-received by the audience, Serkis channeled Gollum, his character from director Peter Jackson‘s live-action The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films, by quipping, “There is only one word to describe a movie with Lord of the Rings and anime at the same time, and that is precious.

No one can actually provide it. But what is the point?

I shudder to think what your search history looks like.

Anyway, here's what she actually looks like:

What she LOOKS like is less important than how much of a girl boss she turns out to be.

Little Morrrrrfydd Clark slaying an ice troll in under 10 seconds or REY!!! wielding the force better than Darth, Luke, Kylo or her grandpappy Palpatine with like a weekends worth of training on Hideaway Island is what will kill a show or movie.

I don’t think anyone is complaining about what she looks like. The animation argument is something different entirely.

It is the story.

At this point, it is an overplayed trope.

I don’t mind a badass lead character. Many good sci-fi series have female leads.

Theirs Not to Reason Why series by Jean Johnson
Tanya Huff’s books (Valor’s Choice with Torrin Kerr)
David Weber’s Honor Harrington
John Ringo’s Under a Graveyard Sky series
William C Dietz’s Andromeda series
Jay Kristoff’s Nevernight
Bloody Rose by Nicholas Eames

And I could go on.

What was once an interesting genre has morphed into the only genre. They killed it with oversaturation.

It is tiring at this point.

I really don’t think anime fits with Tolkien’s vision. Would rather they base the animation on European animated children’s books which drawings can be quite frightening.

Imagine a story about Helm Hammerhand that’s actually about…

Helm Hammerhand!

Crazy, yeah?

The animation style of the 1978 movie was perfect.

I'd like to know which company they're (Disney, Amazon and others) using for focus groups that tells them that the pathway to riches for streaming content are these kinds of scenarios in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres. Also I'd like to know for financial purposes since they're fleecing the hell out of these companies.

Focus groups are typically done by 3rd party vendors which wouldn’t be a part of the parent company in order to get decent data.

This is where shite really flies off the rails. Ok you want to have a female lead write it well and develop a greater character I don't care. Then they have to go and torpedo the while thing with a tribe of female fighters that everyone knows is dumb.

You know what’s funny? If you gave the reigns of Marvel, Star Wars, and Tolkien to someone like Stallone, we’d be getting far better movies in all three.
