Has anyone started this yet? I think the first 3 episodes are available now. I read the book at the beginning of last year and thought it was good.

Was going to start it today, but I feel like I'm already living in that world when I turn on the news I'm sure I'll end up watching it.

I get that. But they started filming prepandemic and the book was out several years ago. But I get not wanting to watch anything that feels pandemic based.

I'm about 15 min into the second episode and I'm not really digging it. It's jumping around way too much, and the post apocalyptic society they live in is pretty dumb. The acting isn't really doing it for me, and the characters aren't all that interesting. Probably tap out here shortly.

It’s weird this was written pre-pandemic. I’m watching tonight, and it’s pretty good so far. Too early to tell.

I feel like I’m watching Lost for some reason.

I like it. It seems like covid stuff but I think the story is pretty good so far. Really pissed it isn’t entirely based on the little girl and Geevin (sp) figuring out what to do post virus

Ya know, I felt the same at first but I’m actually loving the other storyline.

I hate when an entire season isn’t released, btw. I flew through those 3 episodes.

This is pretty high quality. Can definitely tell it’s based on a novel. I know this novel has been taught in Freshman CoMposition classes a lot, but I hadn’t read it yet.

Anyway, I’m really enjoying it and wish it was bingeable with all episodes released.

Was on the fence after the first 3 episodes but episodes 4 and 5 have been really interesting.

The airport episode and the first one are def the best so far. Jim fricking Jones jr. showing up is pretty unique of a twist.

The Watch- The Ringers tv podcast had its best of 2021 last week with Sam Ismel from Mr Robot

They all gave their top 10s and 2 of the 3 had this number 1. I’d never heard of it but they said it’s like the Leftovers where you aren’t sure about it and then each episode sucks you in more and at the end you realize it’s a masterpiece

Definitely intrigued

I'm caught up through four. I don't like the hippie caravan. These folks would be starving to death. But that's the liberal fantasy, a theater troupe/commune where everyone performs art and doesn't do shite and everyone is fat and happy.

Those folks would be hunting/gardening/scavenging ALL DAY just to survive.

But I guess I need to suspend disbelief.

The episodes/segments preceding the hippie commune are much better. 1st and 3rd episodes in particular.

It does have that "Lost" magic box trope with the graphic novel that'll be interesting to watch play out.

This show just fricking sucks. It's like if theater kids ruled after the apocalypse. Everyone one knows that the theater kids would be the first ones culled if shite really hit the fan.

Started off quite “meh,” but it’s become much more interesting from around episode 4 onward.

It started off like it was going to be a somewhat typical post-apocalyptic survival story, but it’s becoming much more sci-fi, which I’m all about. The most recent episode had almost a Drawing of the Three thing going on. I’m definitely going to finish it. I’m pretty sure there’s just 3 episodes left in the whole show

i still dont know what to make of the show, but i kinda like it. it feels a little like the show utopia. some influenza (or vaccine in utopia) conspiracy to start an apocalypse basically. plus the station eleven book they keep referencing is reminiscent of the utopia manuscript.

they have some interesting time jumps and mixing older/younger kirsten.

Yeah I just finished Utopia (2013/2014 UK version). Pretty cool show, and a great watch during COVID for the conspiracy theory crowd. It's on Amazon Prime for those who are interested (but watch the original UK version, not the more recent American remake, which is also on Prime).

I've only watched the first episode of Station Eleven so far, so I can't comment on it yet.
