re: Really Bad Band Names

I'm the only one on this board that gets to say this one

The Disco Biscuits

Culkin is kind of just playing Roman again, but Jewish this time.
I thought the same thing. I wonder if that is his real personality and he just fits certain characters
quote:

Billy Strings is Okay. I Don’t Get The Hype.
I felt the same way for the last few years. I've love seeing him play with other people - billy and the kids, phish, etc. I just got bored watching the live stuff people recommended.

However, I went to 1 of the 3 shows over new years and I was blown away seeing them live. He has surrounded himself with really good musicians. They're jams are as close to the dead sounding as most. I will check them out when they are in nola from now on. I'll even drag my wife to a show - she doesn't like bluegrass at all.
We can't fire him so we should stay optimistic. Let's hope he can get it figured out

1. Does he have the program at a level that can compete for championships?

For Kelly, he is definitely not there for #1, at least not yet.
He played for an sec championship year 1 :)

If we figured out how to defend a running qb we would be 8-1. Sounds better doesn't?

Ok let me get out my Betamax
I remember betamax as a kid and this made me laugh harder than I have in a while. Thank you young man

Some of you are like children, distracted by every new, shiny object
This made me laugh and this guy know what he is talking about

Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
-- Robert Hunter
Found myself listening to this album this morning. I always forget how good this album is. Now if I can just keep this great mood going all day
Great work mdomingue! This is why I come to the rant. Kelly looks pretty good in that list. Those first few years with Miles were amazing!
That is just wrong. Grew up in BR, went to catholic, and he's an Alabama fan?
quote:

Still very big here too, especially Mr. Brightside
I'm always amazed when it comes on in big atmosphere environments how many young people know all of the lyrics

1st concert. Probably why I still like them today even though they lost it in the late 90s

You;re gonna have a blast Reb. I wen for Phish and it was amazing.
Was there all 4 nights. Really amazing. These graphics are making me want to go back.

If you're not staying at the Venetian, go through there to get to the venue.
That first night sucked. It took us 1.5 hours to get through and missed the first half of first song. Went in outside the 2nd night but used the tunnel again last 2 nights

No way I’d take her now but that got me thinking, how long can they go? 5 - 10 years max?
If the Dead are any indication, they have another 15-20 years :)

Don't be afraid to introduce your children at an early age to live music in the right setting.

I took my daughter to a wsp show outdoors at jazzfest when she was 3. I took her to see Santana at jazz fest before she was 1. She's likely seen more phish and biscuits shows than anyone else on this board :) BTW- she's in her 3rd year of a biomedical PhD program, so we didn't completely mess her up.
Just saw him at Tipitina's last week. Really great show and hadn't been to Tipitina's in 10+ years. Surprised he is playing Chelsea's since it is only ~600 person venue. But I also discovered Tipitina's is only ~800. I remembered Tipitina's being bigger.

I noticed on Setlist.fm he plays basically the same setlist every night. I also thought he might jam more on some of his songs. It was pretty standard album versions of all the songs.

Still like his music and glad I finally go to see him live. I saw The War on Drugs a few years ago and really liked that show. Not many people get to be a founding member of a big band like that and have a phenomenal solo career. He is really talented and it was not surprising that he is a little weird.
