The first Garfield movie was good.

The second one was just bad. Knew it was going to be bad when Foxx was attached.

Damn, would be an epic July if 4 straight weeks featured a mid 90s rated movie.

Baby Driver
Spiderman
Apes
Dunkirk

Would be boner city if they all turn out to be excellent.
Saw Baby Driver last night and it definitely set the bar high.

These aren't just 3/5 reviews getting it up there. Multiple critics saying it's their favorite MCU movie. Wow.

agreed but the first two Raimi movies were great with Spiderman 2 being a top 5-10 comic movie.

That's the bar and Spiderman is capable of hitting it every time if done correctly. He has an everyman/boy appeal that other superheroes can't compete with.

The one rotten review reads like the guy is pissed that they didn't try harder to make it more like the 70's TV show.

He's never been my favorite superhero, but there's a charm about Spider-Man that is often unavoidable.

He's often the best of Marvel, because he's so positive, a little naive in his early days, and he's been allowed to grow significantly in the books.

I think this movie will be great. I know many feel whiplash from this franchise being rebooted so many times over the last decade, but I think Tom Holland might wind up being the quintessential movie Spiderman when it is all said and done.

In my mind, Tobey Maguire was a great Peter Parker, but a weak Spiderman. Meanwhile, I thought Andrew Garfield was a good Spiderman, but a terrible Peter Parker (Peter doesn't fricking skateboard around a warehouse to some Kevin Bacon in Footloose montage).

Tom Holland, on the other hand, looks like the perfect blend of nerdy, immature Peter Parker and wiseass, cocky Spiderman. I'm stoked for this film.

Anyone else notice that Karen, the AI in Peter's suit, is voiced by Jennifer Connelly?

I agree. I think the best part about this reboot is him. He's the perfect Peter AND Spider-Man.

As long as this stays in Marvel's hands, the future will he secured and we will be for tons of fun with future Spidey films

Chris Stuckmann gave it a mediocre review: LINK

And of course Jeremy Jahns just listens to what his fans want him to say and raves about it, but I don't trust that guy as far as I can throw him on movies.
