Spider-Man is perhaps the best superhero ever created. He's the audience: a nerdy, awkward kid that gets his heart's desire, but then instead of using it for personal gain, tries to make the world better.

All while cracking jokes and holding down a job. He's got real problems in a way Batman or even the Fantastic Four never do. Spider-Man worries about the rent.

By far the most lightweight and thematically inconsequential of any and all past "Spider-Man" features.

So like all the other MCU films I am excited to see this one because my son loves him some Spiderman.

awww yeah I am getting so pumped for this movie. Spiderman = G.O.A.T. superhero the last three movies did not do him justice

I am not sure I would go with GOAT. But spiderman has so much more to offer than other marval characters. He has strengths and real weaknesses. He often fails at things, and has humility. And he also has really good villians.

Much better than the rest of MCU as far as I am concerned.

I was a big spiderman freak as a teen. I will say I can't read his newer comics though, storylines are just weak. But venom? Holy frick that blew my mind when I read it as a teen.

The first Garfield movie was good.

Ehh, it was ok. The Lizard's plan was ridiculous even for a comic movie and the construction workers moving the cranes to help Spidey was cheese to the Nth degree.

looks like we have our first decent spiderman movie in almost 15 years. the garfield movies are trash and raimi's third was a mess.

Anyone else notice that Karen, the AI in Peter's suit, is voiced by Jennifer Connelly?

This is why I couldn't be Spider-Man. My Connelly-voice induced boner would be so noticeable in that suit.

Avengers had a 90 something and that movie was a piece of shite

critics tend to be nice to super hero movies and criminally underrate horror movies

I find it interesting that the rotten reviews are just negative for the sake of being negative and don't point out specific flaws in the film.

In fact, the things they do hate, others praise. Different strokes for different folks.

I'll kindly disagree here.

Spidey may be the most fun and relatable superhero ever considering what he goes through daily and how closely he resembles comic book nerds but I don't think he can handle god like power and responsibility like Superman does and use it for pure and noble purposes, especially when he grew up in more humble circumstances than Spidey on a farm in the middle of nowhere with adoptive parents that often both die early.

There's a reason why Superman is the GOAT superhero. All that god like power and tries so hard, even when its counterproductive to himself, to set a great example for humanity to follow. The entire world looks to Superman as a christ like figure of sorts that's beyond reproach. Any other superhero would go insane being put on a pedestal like that, even Spidey.

Superman is essentially the best idea comic books has ever created.

Agree.

It's why I'm looking forward to this movie a lot. I'm holding out against hope for a Spiderman/Deadpool movie one day. Those two are a perfect match and such a movie would be the tits.

I'm not trying. that movie sucks. Captain America 2 & 3, iron man, ant man and ed norton hulk are the only marvel movies that are any good. The rest blow

Superman is arguably less of a comic book creation than an adaptation of pre-existing Superman myths and children's fantasies. His character and powers are the stuff of religion.

He is inarguably the most universal superhero in the world for large numbers of people who never read comic books

I agree with you. I recently watched it again with my boy and I couldn't stop laughing at how bad it was. I had forgotten how terrible Caps costume was that character has improved so much since then, but he was crap in that movie.
