Something I never noticed about The Sandlot.

At the end when Benny pickles the beast, he brings out the PF Flyer shoes. However, he takes off the exact same shoes to put them on. I guess I always assumed it was a special pair of shoes, but it’s just a new pair of the same shoes he already wears everyday.

Are you pointing it out as a continuity mistake? I assumed it was because the kids discovered it was just a dog and not a mythological beast as the movie progressed.

I’m not even arguing against that. I just never realized until recently that it’s the same pair of shoes he already wore. I always thought they were special and brought out for this special occasion based on how Smalls described them.

According to TV and movies, all shoes back then looked like chucks. So, he was changing some cheap pair of shoes that looked like chucks, for the best of the best, PF Fliers, which also looked like chucks.
Kinda like OCs being “better” even though they look like other shoes.

What in the world, I've never heard this. I mean when they are having the tree house sleep over, sure, you knew that was an exaggerated tale of him, but in other scenes they were actually making him out to be a ginormous dog.
The fake Hercules was pretty huge...

just like a regular bridge over the bayou looks high as frick when you're a kid.
