Ever since becoming a father I get hit hard at one of the dumbest movies ever. Armageddon when Harry is saying goodbye to his daughter before nuking himself on the asteroid.
Her reaction is pretty intense and I cant imagine myself putting my daughter through that, even if his action is totally worth it to save her (and the rest of humanity).

The last time the dad and the son travel back one last time .. man that was toughhhhhh.
Yup. Really thought I was watching some random RomCom.
Wrong. This movie sucker punched me, as I had lost my dad no too long before I saw it.

The short film at the beginning of Incredibles 2 about the woman dreaming about a dumpling that comes to life to replace her son.

In Frequency, Jim Caviezel contacts his father in the past and alters the future. That night, his dad comes home alive when he’s a boy and teaches him to ride a bike. I lost my father at age 11. That scene got to me deeply.
Also, the parade/funeral scene for Kurt Russell in Backdraft

I don't think it's been listed, but there are numerous scenes in The Deer Hunter that just tear you apart.
Obviously, the finale is the biggie, when Nick is brought back home, the old crew gets back together in the same bar again, all never to be the same again. George Dzundza bursts into tears as he makes breakfast, then thay fricking Merle Streep starts singing God Bless America... Then the famous, poignant guitar solo theme hits.
It's worse than heartbreaking, it's the total end of innocence. LINK

Not mentioned here yet but the end of Men in Black 3 when Will Smith finds out what happened to his dad and the part K played in it.

That’s a good one. I’ll take it further and say I get real emotional when the NASA Captain ‘requests permission to shake the hand, of the daughter, of the bravest man I’ve ever met.’
Great line.
Also, thinking about Red Fern Grows makes me sad. Never cried more reading a book.

Infinity War was boring and hardly emotional.

Another one I haven't seen mentioned yet is Only the Brave when everyone is in the school gym waiting to see if the "one guy who survived" was their husband/father/son... then the main character walks in and several families just lose it. I can't imagine holding on to that last strand of hope and then being crushed like that.
