The director is Jewish himself and has been adamant about finding a Jewish actor for Thing. Hence why you saw the Mila Kunis rumors.

Yeah. At least the rumor mill castings seem to have leaned towards Jewish actors. I'm not sure if Michael Chicklis or the guy who played the thing in the last movie were Jewish, but I can see them going in that direction this time due to the source material.
Being Jewish is a pretty integral part of the Ben Grimm character. Another maybe equally important part is that he came from very poor circumstances and was part of the Yanccy Street gang, but made it in life becoming a pilot and I think before that a football big man on campus.

Margot Robbie seems unlikely to me just due to the fact that she is good friends with Leonardo DiCaprio and I read that the number one piece of advice Leonardo DiCaprio gives young actors is don’t do superhero shite.

Sue Storm: Margot Robbie - I could live with this if the other choices weren't so bad.
Johnny Storm: Paul Mescal - Who?
Ben Grimm: Daveed Diggs - The only shocker here is they only race swapped one character. So many better choices for the iconic Thing.
I think I will sit this one out. I will try and find a copy of the unreleased 1994 low budget version.
