Rotten Tomatoes Last Jedi bot is fake. Scores just suck on their own.

“We have several teams of security, network, and social database experts who constantly monitor reviews and ratings to ensure that they are genuine,” Benson told Forbes. “They haven’t seen anything unusual with The Last Jedi, except that there has been an uptick in the number of written user reviews submitted. Aside from that, everything is normal and we don’t see any unusual activity. We looked at The Last Jedi compared to other blockbusters and it has been consistent with those past films.” Benson explained that The Last Jedi has a "comparable number of reviews to The Force Awakens" but can't nail down why there is such a chasm between the critical score and the audience score. “I can’t explain why there’s such a disparity,” Benson said. “How we take this is that people are super passionate about this movie. On the positive side, our site is popular, and it has become an important platform for debate and discussion.” What Benson can say though is that no Facebook group or slew of bots is the reason for the score, as that can be solely attributed to the fans and their reactions.

There are three types of people watching these movies:
Fans that will complain about anything they see with the Star Wars name on it that was made after Return of the Jedi.
Fans that will appreciate new entries to the Star Wars universe even if they are flawed, and can look past those flaws and enjoy further development of the universe they love.
New fans (mostly kids) that Disney is making this movie for.

I'm in this camp.
I thought TLJ was awesome, despite a few holes.
Let the downvotes rain.
ETA: I think people will look back after 9 and change their view on TLJ. Disney didn't get to where they are by wandering in the dark. Whatever this trilogy is, it was fully planned from the beginning.
One of the major draws of previous SW movies was that the audience left with more questions than answers. I think they're going this route and we'll know more eventually.

Then explain to me why I loved TFA and Rogue 1. Also why fans rated those high.
Sounds like you don't know wtf you are talking about.

I know it’s real because I saw the movie
It’s also why I suspect critics were paid or afraid of getting cut out of the Disney loop. 93% my arse. Even the bad reviews are somewhat positive and don’t even tackle why it was actually not good

Sounds like you need to find a new franchise and leave Star Wars to the folks who still enjoy it.

I did read an article that said the average "rotten" score from the audience was 7.4 or something like that.

TLJ was absolute shite.

Critics aren't fanboys who will bitch and moan about every single little problem.

What about people who are fans, but can simply realize a shitty movie when they see it? I can handle flaws; despite a handful of complaints I legitimately liked TFA, but shitty writing is shitty writing

So I am just supposed to blindly love a movie because it is starwars?
Once again, I enjoyed 2 out of the 3 new movies. I am allowed to say how shite this movie was.

Critics have more motives than if a movie was good or not.

I saw one that kind of said it’s inconsequential story wise to the larger saga, which is a spot on
So 99% of the resistance including nearly every single influential character dying is inconsequential? Poe's rise to leadership of the resistance is inconsequential? Rose and Finn having a romantic interest...yeah that one was bad.

I just don't see where they can go with this without heavy suspension of disbelief. It seems like the First Order and the Resistance effectively wiped each other out. I mean who cares where they take it from here, and that's the most damning thing you can say about it.

I believe it was initially planned, but Rian Johnson just said "frick that", took everything that JJ gave him, and then subverted it. I only need one thing as proof: Just imagine if The Force Awakens carried on for one more minute to where we see Rey hand him his lightsaber and for him to throw it over his shoulder. The audience would be outraged, boo, and have a similar audience rating on RT. There's no way in hell JJ had that in mind at the end scene. Rian Johnson goes out of his way to give everyone who has ever been associated with the franchise the middle finger.
