I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, but I I remember how frustrated I was when Kevin didn’t take a chance with Madeline over Winnie. I remember having a huge crush on Madeline

Madeline is/was fine. On the other hand I don’t think Danica Mckellar has aged well at all.

That’s not true at all.

I rewatched last year and was a bit surprised how awful Kevin and Winnie were together… and I kind of hated her by the end. Cara is who he should’ve ended up with

Kevin was a dork/loser and deserved neither of them

Watched her in some low rent movie on the Roku channel not long ago. While she’s a terrible actress, she still looked like Winnie and had the same awkward body language

Has aged very well.

There are bad takes posted on the OT every day, but this one tops them all.

I rewatched it years ago, and then rewatched the first 2/3 seasons again with my stepdaughter about 8 years or so ago.

The thing that stood out to me on rewatch was just how whiney Kevin was. Like every single episode he was bitching and crying about something, and he wasn't really a great person/friend most of the time.

Of course, watching the show back in the late 80s/early 90s when I was 9-14 or so, I didn't catch it because I was probably just like he was. But watching it now as an adult, you just want to slap Kevin every other episode.

Is this streaming anywhere? I know they've always had issues with that because of the music. If it's not, I may have to drag the DVDs out and casually watch it here and there. It's such an amazing show that captures childhood so well even in the 80s even though it is set 20 years prior. And the best part of the show is that Kevin and Winnie don't end up together. About as realistic as it gets from a childhood crush perspective.

Fun fact: the ringtone for my wife on my phone is the Winnie Cooper theme.

And this whiny chunky little dude had hotties throwing themselves at him all the time. Most guys like that don't kiss a girl until college. That was probably the most annoying part of the show for me, watching it as a kid, but a lot of shows have ugly dudes with hot wives or girlfriends so guess it's a Hollywood thing for some reason.

Yes she was in decent shape 10 years ago but her most recent photos are rough. Also, could land an airplane on her forehead.

In fairness to her, she’s 50 now. I just don’t find her attractive in the least.

That top photo/all of those photos are like 10 years old. Maybe it’s unfair to say she hasn’t aged well but I do not find her attractive. Look at her most recent instagram and get back to me.

The whole point was that you said:

That was all.

Feel free to not find her attractive. That's all good. But IMO she is a pretty damn good looking woman for 51.

I could never get into this show. I'd catch an episode here than there, but I always found Kevin to be extremely unlikeable. He deserved every bit of bullying his older brother gave him.

I was curious, so I found my old thread where I rewatched it.
quote:

So I am rewatching The Wonder Years, and I completely forgot how much...
...of an a-hole Kevin Arnold is. I mean, every single episode dude is getting irrationally pissed at Paul, or Winnie, or someone else.

And I get that he's a kid, so for example, when he gets pissed at his parents or his brother, that makes sense. But dude is pretty fricking selfish. I mean, he actually has the balls to get legit pissed at Paul for having a bar mitzvah. Jesus (no pun intended), Kevin. It's a pretty big deal for Paul, and isn't his fault that it falls on Kevin's birthday. And then, he goes anyway and ends up trying to hog Paul's attention.

Dude is constantly getting pissed at Winnie Cooper for random shite as well. Hey, Kevin, maybe she doesn't like you sometimes because you're a total dick. Ever thought about that?

Obviously some of this is in jest, and rewatching the show now...I forgot just how awesome it was. I'm only about halfway through season three. But just about every single episode resonates perfectly with some memory from my childhood. I think my favorite one so far is S3:E1 - Summer Song, when they went to Ocean City and he meets that older chick, Teri. Most guys have that memory of being around that age and meeting the love of your life on vacation and then being devastated when it's time to go home.

Looks like my memory of just how much Kevin pissed me off was on point.

Also, forgot about this from my thread too:
quote:

Also, fun fact: Wikipedia just told me that the girl who played Teri in the episode I just mentioned...she grew up and made porn (Holly Sampson). And also was apparently one of the sloots that Tiger Woods banged on his bachelor party.
