Wikipedia just told me that the girl who played Teri in the episode I just mentioned...she grew up and made porn (Holly Sampson).

So odd she got into porn as did Maitland Ward from Boy Meets World.

I can't re-watch WY knowing how it ended. That last sequence at a parade when all kinds of downer updates were revealed.

Yep. And gotta love Norma too.

There are so many things between Jack and Norma that you miss as a kid watching the show. Like the episode with her trying something...was it pottery or something like that?

Watching as an adult, especially married, you catch a lot more of the Jack/Norma dynamic. It's pretty cool.

Yeah. She forgot to buy the Pepsi:

Norma: Oh, so now I'm expected to know when I'm going to forget something in advance?

Jack: Sure. I knew you were gonna forget it.

I grew up watching and loving Boy Meets World and never even knew about Wonder Years until my friends in college showed me and we rewatched reruns.. really enjoyed it and liked it more than BMW when it was all said and done
I know we don't get to pick our year of birth and thus our perspective on many things, but this just sounds like a funhouse mirror.

It's like I said something like:

I grew up listening to Donny Osmond and never even knew about The Beatles until my friends in college showed me and I listened to all their albums...really enjoyed them and like them more than Donny Osmond when it was all said and done.

It's like, uh, yeah. BMW isn't even the same type of show. You're comparing a multi-camera sitcom filmed in front of a live studio audience for kids with a complex work of art with serious intent.

Yeah, BMW isn’t in the same stratosphere as TWY. It’s not even close. But admittedly I never really liked BMW. I think I was just slightly too old for it when it aired, so it didn’t resonate with me at all like it did with tons of people close to my age.

But TWY is far from a comedy, whereas BMW is a sitcom in its truest form.

I'm sure everyone here knows that her sister IRL was Becky Slater - who Kevin also dated.

I did not.

The episode I always remember is the one where Kevin is a complete douche to this kid.

Yeah it is funny when you think about it. I know BMW is a sitcom but it still had some serious OG moments that had life lessons and stuff. But yeah it is a different style. It’s crazy 2 brothers play the main characters of WY and BMW

Doug Porter

FYI Jason Hervey is very active on Instagram and engages with fans about TWY frequently. The guy who played Doug Porter was in the comments once talking with everyone. Apparently the show writers didn’t renew his character and it took him by surprise.

I thought the show did a really really great job of fleshing out the auxiliary chractwrs and making them memorable. Everyone had that one pudgy friend like Doug who was always relegated to “blocking” in flag football.

Crystal McKellar.

She originally auditioned for the role of Winnie.

That's Doug. He ended up being in Kevin's tight circle in high school, so no biggie.

Oh shite, will have to check it out.

My favorite of the friends was Randy Mitchell and then Giovanni Ribisi's character when he came along was OK.

I liked him and always thought he was an underrated addition. The episode where Kevin drives him back to his hometown and you learn that he basically puts on the jokester persona to deal with being uprooted from his life back home was a nice touch.

My favorite episode was always the basketball one with Jim Caviezel.
