To be fair, it's not like she was a nobody before she became head of Lucasfilm.
I read your post and the biggest takeaway for me is that Kennedy road some pretty impressive coat tails, namely Spielberg and her husband.
It looks like Kennedy and her career's success was somewhat of a pet project for Spielberg.

Spielberg made her. She started out as a lowly assistant to a Hollywood screenwriter. Spielberg discovered her on the set of 1941 and made her his assistant. Three years later, she's a producer on E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.

#MeTooWithBenefits?
BTW, 1941 came out in 1979.
Amy Irving and Spielberg broke up in 1979.
Cowinkie-dinkie?

And she also produced "The Last Airbender", debatably the worst film of all time.

Id like to see a non-creative in charge of it who actually responds to legitimate criticisms and doesn’t double down on things that run off general audiences. Moral ambiguity, Uber political plots, conventional millennial college campus SJW characters who are supposed to be “edgy” (think Rose, L3, Holdo) these are all things I’d like to see a new Lucasfilm CEO pump the brakes on.

What a shitshow. Why cant she just take her buyout and go live on her island and sip martinis all day?
And now rumors of Kevin Smith directing a movie or two for Star Wars.
Can we just go back to 1999 and have a do-over?

I don’t think Kevin Smith should be directing Star Wars movies, but I’d be completely fine with Disney making him the Kevin Feige of Star Wars.

If you think Rian went all SJW. . .Kevin makes Rian look like a paragon of masculinity

Kevin Smith isn’t the same guy who made Clerks 1 and 2.

bullshite. It’s not a sinking ship.
Prez’s How To Fix Star Wars:
#1. Get rid of Kennedy
#2. Very publicly announce Rian Johnson will have no further involvement in Star Wars
#3. Have JJ do some interviews saying “We’re going to fix this. Please be patient.”
Do this and Solo will be one of the most popular home video releases ever. The box office performance was a referendum on the franchise, not on that movie. I actually enjoyed it for what it was. The Kessel run sequence was really enjoyable and had some great Star Wars moments.
And that’s really what my biggest problem with TLJ was. At no time did I feel like i was watching a Star Wars movie. You bastardize good characters all in the name of a social narrative that not only is irrelevant in the context of this universe but also unnecessary.
In 1977 Leia stood in front of two of the most powerful men in the galaxy and effectively told them to “Eat shite.” She’s a central part of Empire, leading the rebellion, and is in the middle of the fight in ROTJ. You’ve also already got a strong female character that you’ve set up in Rey. And you take Luke, the self trained Jedi, son of Anakin, who redeemed his father in front of the most powerful Sith Lord in history when he rejected the Dark Side and expect us to believe that he tried to murder his nephew in a fit of bad judgement thereby turning him into a monster and causing the downfall of the galaxy? And then have him walk away from it all and reject the force?
Come the frick on. It isn’t “entitled fandom”. It’s shite storytelling. And yes I believe the fans have a stake in all of this as you people have milked them for every lunch box, action figure, lego set and Halloween costume you could put out for almost half a century.

Hey, we agree on something.
A lot of posts on here are pretty delusional.
2 things I can agree with most people in this thread
1. Kennedy needs to go
2. RJ needs to go
Whether or not JJ is the savior remains to be seen. Frankly, a lot of his movies have issues also.
Something I think everyone can agree on is that they need a plan. Not a bunch of individual movies.

TLJ wouldn't crack my top 10 worst films. Top 20, maybe.

TFA was an ok movie with nothing really original or new. Rey was still a Mary Sue, plot was almost verbatim ANH
