Well, heck, I'll take the job. Couldn't do worse and CEO of Lucasfilm, even for a year, would be enough to retire on.

There’s only one reason they’re having problem finding a replacement, because everyone they’ve approached has made the same demand: in order to come on board, Iger has to allow them to remake TLJ. TLJ ruined the franchise and gives you nothing to work with going forward. The hyperdrive weaponry alone is a deal breaker. Rey is too perfect and needs to be brought down a notch. It’s got to be respectful to previous entries in the franchise. There’s stuff that you can work with in TLJ to where if you just reshoot some scenes and carefully edit others, I think you can keep it under $100 million.

But with this Disney has to admit they fricked up hardcore and the critics are pretty much in their pocket. At this point though, it’s the only logical step forward. Keep RO and Solo cannon, but TLJ has to be written out of it.

I'd tell them to frick off too after I set them up with some nice storylines only to see them throw them all in the garbage.

I’ve not been jealous of JJ. He’s now caught with his dick in his hands having no idea where to take this or where anything in the universe stands.

Didn’t JJ defend TLJ at one point, saying that fans fear change or something like that?

Of course he did, but I don’t think he actually believes that. These people believe that and basically forced him to say it.

Mike and Bryan had to defend The Last Airbender for years, but once their contracts were over they went to town on it. It wouldn’t shock me if after he’s done sucking on Disney’s tit that he came out against TLJ and how much of a nightmare it was to clean up Johnson and Kennedy’s mess.

Reminds me of when he did Lost for tv. Great starter on shows, but has trouble closing

LOST could at least keep a character arc straight and anytime I didn’t know what the frick was going on was intentional.

Yep.

quote:

“‘Star Wars’ is a big galaxy, and you can sort of find almost anything you want to in ‘Star Wars,'” he said. “If you are someone who feels threatened by women and needs to lash out against them, you can probably find an enemy in ‘Star Wars.’ You can probably look at the first movie that George [Lucas] did [‘Star Wars: A New Hope’] and say that Leia was too outspoken, or she was too tough. Anyone who wants to find a problem with anything can find the problem. The internet seems to be made for that.”

He also said that the bitching from the fans isn't going to change how he does the next movie.

quote:

Asked if fan outcry would at all impact his vision for the upcoming film, Abrams was clear. “Not in the least,” he said, adding, “There’s a lot that I would like to say about it, but I feel like it’s a little early to be having the ‘Episode IX’ conversation…"

JJ on board with TLJ, Rian Johnson keeping his trilogy, Kennedy going nowhere...

Must be a hard pill for the fanboys to swallow.

That doesn’t make any sense, but thanks for your confirmation to my question, Mr Self Upvoter.

That was the point

-Rian Johnson

ignoring the feminization angle, it's not even a secret that he sought out deconstructing the SW universe

good thing Disney made all their investment back on the Force Awakens

I thought they would at least make it through the new trilogy before blowing this thing up

This may very well be retarded but why not make Feige in charge of Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm?

Feige works at Marvel because he's a huge Marvel fanboy who also knows how to run a movie studio. He's managed to keep even the most ardent Marvel fans happy while also making changes to long standing characters (Thor being a big one).

That's what they need at Lucasfilm, but that's hard to find someone that is both:
A.) A massively huge FAN (not just a Star Wars nerd, but someone who genuinely loves the characters)
B.) Can run a movie studio worth billions
C.) Is willing to change things that need changing while keeping other aspects true to their core

Marvel got damn lucky with Feige. I don't know if they'll strike oil twice.

He was thinking that he wanted to "shake things up" just for the sake of shaking things up. No real reason other than that.

Well somebody better become apparent real damn quick before Rian Johnson gets too far along with the next trilogy.

I firmly believe Leia will still be alive in the trilogy Johnson is writing.
