re: Ozark Finale Discussion **SPOILERS FOR SERIES FINALE!**

As for the ending, I kinda feel like it ended in typical Ozark fashion.
Sort of this. What I took from it is that it essentially never ends. Just like in every episode of the series, whenever they think one problem is solved, they create another one. They think they're out, but Mel pops up. Now he's dead which will create new problems, and on and on we go.
But my issue with that is that it's lazy. They had the opportunity to decide how it should end, and work backwards from there. But it's like they wrote themselves into a corner and didn't know how to get out.

Just wish Ruth hadn’t been a casualty.
Why, though? She's the second-biggest a-hole on the show behind Wendy. The two of them are perpetually fricking up things for everyone else.

Yeah they absolutely did not stick the landing like Breaking Bad did.

I’m glad that show was over with
I just didn’t care about Shafer or the foundation or the voting machines or any of that shite
Wendy is one of my least favorite characters of all time. The manipulation of the looney bin and her begging her dad at the funeral home. It’s all such an act. She didn’t mean any of it

Nope, they did not. But to be fair, this show was never in the same league as BB.

They really, really went all-out this season to convince us that she was downright evil, and possibly even certifiable (although it's hard to say, because she's such a liar/manipulator).

I was so over the “finding Ben” story line. Like even if he’s not dead he obviously dosent want to be found, he’s a grown man so it’s not like he got kidnapped. Time to give up looking

As the series progressed, I think something happened in the writers' room that pushed the narrative towards "strong independent women" having to deal with "toxic men" (e.g., Ben).
Almost everything in this arc was beyond normal or even realistic bounds, but at some point when I realized that nearly all of the strongest characters on the screen were female, it just really took me out of the show for some reason.

Might be harsh but this season flat out sucked. Garbage. Honestly if you haven’t watched it don’t waste your time.

Right here with you mate.
Hardly kept my attention. And I hate how literally dark every scene is. It just wasn’t great tv that we were expecting

Show should’ve ended with Marty killing Wendy.
She got absolutely, out of control power hungry. She was a sociopath who destroyed her own family because she loved the power.
Marty should’ve blown her fricking brains out. It pissed me the frick off that he continued to be railroaded by her when everything she was doing was tanking them. Quite possibly my most hated character of all time now.

Tuck was the most likable character.

I'm on Episode 13 and I switch allegiances to Team Wendy from Team Ruth

I just watched the finale. That ending was pure trash. So Jonah is a damn murderer all of a sudden? Give me a break.

Was actually rooting for the PI in the end .
So was I, but I knew they would kill him. Idiot should have gone straight to the cops instead of giving a bad guy speech.

I didn't have a problem with the ending. It just shows that no matter what the Byrde's do there will always be another 'problem' to get rid of. It will never end for them.

That was a stinker of a finale on many levels.
- Wendy somehow redeemed in half an episode because they all survived a car wreck?
- After a full redemption, Ruth just killed by the cartel bitch.
- Jonah says he's gonna stop breaking the law (at least long enough to get through high school) only to murder a cop the same day.
Lazy writing. Similar to GOT it feels like they painted themselves in a corner and had to rush an ending.

Yeah it wasn't a great finale.
I wonder if Jonah just shot the jar with the ashes instead of killing the PI? It would kind of get rid of the evidence. Just a thought and easier to believe than murder for me.

i mean we know that. and it will end for them, when they die.
They didn't need to show them die, but they without a doubt could have ended this better. Like I said, Marty taking over the cartel and killing Wendy would have been a great ending. I would have rathered he realize that he'll never get out of this life, ever, so just embrace it. Hell i wouldn't have cared if it was Wendy that did that, even though everyone hates her. Anything would have been better than what they did.
