I didn't have a problem with the ending. It just shows that no matter what the Byrde's do there will always be another 'problem' to get rid of. It will never end for them.
I would love another season where the FBI agent goes after them for killing Mel.

Maybe this is minor, but I was also bothered by Nelson's death. Ruth's friend is a sniper all of a sudden? Also, that scene where she wrestles with guilt was complete filler.
I also didn't care about the hotel worker leaving for North Carolina. Like, why did we just dedicate time to giving him a send off?

A sniper? She had the high ground and he was like 20-30 yards (at most) away. If she has ever hunted and killed an animal there is little doubt she could make that shot.
My wife has shot a rifle about 3-4 times in the entire time that we've been married and I'd put money on her making the same shot.
It did take Rachel two shots to put him down so there's that.
But yea spot on on the rest.

Okay that's fair.

Absolutely horrible and lazy finale. Writers bitched out. Considering the incredible finale of season 3, i can't believe they went this route.

I was so over the “finding Ben” story line. Like even if he’s not dead he obviously dosent want to be found, he’s a grown man so it’s not like he got kidnapped. Time to give up looking

I felt like they got so overly concerned with trying to wrap up all the sub stories that they ended up fricking up the whole thing. It was like they were more concerned with the buildup than the actual finale. Probably wrote too much going into it.
I'm like you that I didn't hate or like it. I still think this was one of the better shows on tv even with all its faults.

But that’s all the show already was for 4 seasons. The Byrd’s evading somebody on their trail for a season then get out of it in the finale. You want rinse and repeat of that?
What would the FBI agent do that Mel didn’t? She’d pin them just like he did then die at the end of next season. It’s the cycle the Byrd’s were never going to get out of, I’m glad it’s over.

Wtf was that slow motion bullet that killed Ruth? Lmao that was terrible.

What was the point of the car wreck? They flip over 6 times and they all walk away and just go on with no other mention of it.
The ending was the theme of the series. The family destroys other people in their wake but they stick together in the end and the family wins.
I don’t love it, but that’s what the show was about, the family surviving.

I thought the first half of season 4 released earlier this year was very good. I’m still kind of stunned at these 7 episodes.
I found every episode long and drawn out and it seemed like every scene was just flip flopping on how to fix a problem.

It seems the point of the car wreck was so the writers could include the brief conversation between Wendy and the cartel priest in which he said that was a warning from God that they need to straighten out their lives (or something like that), and she rejected that assertion and said it was a message from God that they were untouchable/invincible (or something like that). Sort of just foreshadowing the ending where Wendy says the rich and powerful will always win and get away with everything.

Just finished last night. Wow, that was almost satanic.
'yeeeesss, seduce your children into your evil schemes! even your altruistic son is a murderer now, as you smilingly approve! yessss!"
Wendy went so far off the edge with her frazzled crazy bitch ambition that it seemed she'd certainly die. The car accident was meaningless and existed just to jolt the audience and fake us out by teasing Wendy's death?
Also, of course, because it's Netflix, chicks basically take over everything by the end. Wendy runs Marty now, Omar's sister takes over the cartel and Rachel runs the casino. Even the principal FBI agents are chicks. shite, Wendy not dying seemed to be mostly a tease by the writers. I also love how they had Wendy's father 'slut shame' her while giving his reasons for taking the kids.
In reality, Wendy would have gotten everyone killed with her reckless, irrational bullshite. I agree that the ending resolved very little and seemed to be an attempt by the writers to leave things open for a return to the series, or a spinoff, if they so choose one day. I think that's why they had the entire family live. This show is basically Breaking Bad: Redneck Edition, so maybe they have hopes for a future BCS equivalent.

I hated the ending. Like many, I hoped the old adage "crime doesn't pay" would prevail, but sadly in today's world crime DOES pay, and the rich and powerful escape punishment (unless they're part of Trump's circle) . Cynical ending. Ireally hoped Wendy would die and Ruth would live.

The worst part is that she wasn't even good at it. She was stupid and short-sighted. I can handle Claire Underwood but taking Wendy seriously is too much of an ask

I didn't hate it as bad as everyone else.
I think by having Jonas kill the guy at the end leaves an opening for a spin off.

In the end, I’m happy that the Byrds got away with it all. Just wish Ruth hadn’t been a casualty. frick Clare.
Did they get away? They still own part of the casino, right? Where does Ruth's shares go? She has no family left that we know of.
Can Camilla really rule the cartel? Seems like that kind or "society" would have a hard time having a female as a boss.
Still, there is the connection between the casino and drug supply to the cartel.
I just don't see how the Byrds got away.
Maybe I missed something in my whiskey.

What ever happened to the baby? The girl drops him off to ruth at her trailer and that's the last I remember seeing him. Isn't he the heir of Darlene, etc.?
