I see what you're saying about Sam Worthington but he just costarred in a film that was nominated for best picture at the academy awards in Hacksaw Ridge.

Josh Hartnett was by his own choice. Dude was likely going to be THE next big movie star and just said "frick it I'm out" and went home to be with family.

Years later shows up in Penny Dreadful on Showtime.

Dude actually turned down the role of Superman and later, Christopher Nolan's Batman. He later said he regrets turning down Batman.

I notice Arnold is making a lot of direct-dvd type movies now.

I took this thread to be about has beens like Cage and Cuba Gooding Jr. Guys like Statham and Worthington are still in big movies.

Some like Will Smith have picked some crappy movies to star in lately and to a degree I think we were over saturated with him. Same goes for lots of big celebrities.

The problem with the Fresh Prince is that he hasn't really progressed as an actor. I saw some flashes in things like Ali and I Am Legend, but the most part he shone in playing more comedy-oriented characters like in ID and MIB.

Speaking of ID - what did he do to piss off Emmerich and get excluded from the sequel? I guess I missed all the original drama about that as I've been skipping most sequels/reboots lately.

But, to be fair, Concussion was just last year and he got tons of accolades for that.

Dude either has the worst judgment, worst agent or some combination.

Ridley set the table for him in Blackhawk Down (of course he was in Pearl Harbor the same year - just awful). He was going to be Hollywood's "next big thing" - and the kid seemed more than capable to carry the load. But, FFS that was almost 20 years ago.

A combination of desperation and inability to pick a script did him in.

Mark Hamill would have been a great answer here before The Force Awakens.

Hamill had no live action acting career outside of Star Wars and still doesn't.

Damn, dude. Do you even The Guyver or Cherry 2000?

Seriously, though. How had Tom Cruise not popped up yet? He's definitely on his way. Xenu is a helluva manager.

He popped up in Ballers this season. First time I can remember seeing him in years, and I loved him growing up in the 80's

Four of the last five films he acted in made at least $170 million at the box office.

Agreed. Hamill has owned The Joker, and been in numerous video games, too. His turn as The Watcher in Darksiders was inspired.

He sure did. Pretty awesome that he could stick to it like he has.

Michael J Fox comes to mind.

But his acting always seemed shaky at best.
