The ol' car-won't-start-in-time trick. Classic for the genre.
“Why can’t we just get in the running car?!”

Now that scene with Michonne almost seems like a hint about Glenn.

I do think that's a big allusion to him being alive.

Saw that on Buzzfeed earlier, don't know if that was their intention but it definitely works.

Think of the infection as an Active one and a Passive one. Everyone in the world now has the passive version regardless. When that person dies, the virus Activates and they become a walker.
Say that walker bites a human, they're passing that Active virus on to them which accelerates their death and then transformation into a walker.
But the "active" virus only occurs in teeth and fingernails?

Maybe, but they show Heath looking at his reflection in the stream later in the episode and seeing his face covered in blood.

I always thought a bite or scratch caused a fever that killed you and then you turned. They've been pretty inconsistent on the length of time it takes for the fever to develop though. Everyone has gotten zombie blood in their eyes or mouth without consequence at this point.

Anybody know how far ahead the comics are?

I'll chime in here. Everyone has the walker virus inside them. All that does is make you turn when you die, so you become a walker. Has no effect on you dieing. Being bitten or scratched by a walker causes death normally because of the bacteria on the walkers. Think about it: these are decomposing bodies. Lots of bacteria is a decomposing body. Getting a flesh wound from one of these will transfer a ton of bacteria that the human body isn't normally exposed to, and those will result in serious infection. Those infections are stronger than the antibiotics they have can kill off, so the bitten people get a fever (common in infections), and end up dieing because they don't have proper medical treatment. Then they become walkers from the walker virus inside them

at least 65 issues ahead.

does getting scratched turn you? I figure it's the bacteria more than the virus in the bite that kills you. I wonder if anyone has ever been bit, then took a Z-pack and survived?

Not going to go back through this whole thread, but holy shite.
this season has been great so far. I will be interested to see what happens with Rick since he clearly f'd up his hand somehow.

If the Wolves are who most seem to think they are in the comics that was a long time ago in the series.

I just thought of something random, so hear me out: so the group is hiding in the feed store. In the store are dead puppies in cages. In the first season Rick, Glen and others covered themselves in walker guts so that they would go undetected among the walkers. Rick tells the group to "think about something else- puppies and kittens" and T Dog quips: "dead puppies and kittens"- which makes Glen sick.
Could this be some roundabout way of alluding to the fact that Glen is going to cover himself in walker blood in order to get out of that scrum? Or am I grasping at straws?

Can you all remember anyone who was ONLY scratched and then turned?
I feel like I can only remember them getting at least bitten?

Sure. Why not.
