The Hollywood elite tend to turn their nose up at anything horror related. Has a horror movie ever won Motion Picture of the Year? It's a show about zombies and as far as the Hollywood snobs are concerned, it may as well be The Dukes of Hazzard.

There are definitely things that don't make sense, but if the characters always made logical decisions then the show wouldn't be very exciting.
When Glen was trying to figure out a way to distract the walkers i was thinking to myself, with all those cars sitting around, even if they won't start, surely one of them had a batter that works. Why not just rig the car to where the horn is going off. Much easier than burning a building and probably more effective.

I didn't include her just because she's older. Not that that immediately eliminates you, just don't see her making it long if they were out in the wild without a Farm, Prison, or some other established stronghold.

Think of the infection as an Active one and a Passive one. Everyone in the world now has the passive version regardless. When that person dies, the virus Activates and they become a walker.
Say that walker bites a human, they're passing that Active virus on to them which accelerates their death and then transformation into a walker.
