And at one point neither could Thor. So why no bitching about him able to hold it later?

I didn’t say that there was.....aka why it can return later.

But there is no nucleus right now. Stark, Capt, and Natasha has always been the administrative core organizing efforts.

They don’t have a physical meeting place anymore.

They don’t have a leader right now to rally around. Sure there are heroes still around that were on the avengers, but they don’t have what it takes to make a team yet.

Annnnnnnd based on the announced film schedule it’s going to be 8+ years before they are going to even think about another outing.

I think that makes it safe to say the group is dead completely right now.

The Avengers haven’t been a thing since Civil War.

As long as Pepper and Happy are in charge of Stark Industries, the Avengers will have a home. And no telling how many land holdings are held by Wakanda.

They have a king. They have military officers. They'll have a god back after GotG3. The Avengers have never lacked leaders.

There doesn't have to be an Avengers film for there to be Avengers. If the stakes are high enough in any Marvel film, the Avengers can show up like the cavalry.

And I know that an all female Avengers film sounds like feminist-fan-wank, but if Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 2 do well, look for Captain Marvel and the Marvelettes to make it to the screen.

That’s another point I was tempted to bring up, given Tony flat out saying they were dead at the beginning of IW

But they WERE all wearing suits with little A’s on them during Endgame and you could legit argue it reformed with Tony and Steve reconciled so I thought bringing it up would muddy the waters.

exactly.
lets be honest here, cap was ALWAYS worthy. he simply chose to not show up his friend. Thor's reaction was not shock or disbelief, it was "I knew it!"

Well just have to wait and see.

Given what was shown, I really don’t see them existing as even a loosely organized group in the interim like they have been since 2012.

They are all going to go off and do their own thing, with a brand new one reformed and set up almost a decade down the line.

What happens and Fury’s role in Far from Home should give us some insight about the direction they are going to go.

Yeah thinking they will probably follow the same formula. Bunch of stand alone movies and then having to form a new group for a larger threat.

If Cap couldn’t weild the hammer in AoU he shouldn’t be able to now.

What are you talking about? When Cap tried to pick it up in AoU it moved ever so slightly and we got a shot of Thor being super worried that he was going to pick it up. Cap then shakes his head no and let's go without really even trying. That's why when he does grab it Thor says "I knew it."

This.
Most fans took it as Cap being worthy but not wanting to show up his friend.

Hulkbuster gauntlet is not a real gauntlet. Even Thanos needed a specially made gauntlet to use the stones.
Was the Avenger's gauntlet not a specially made gauntlet?

There are plenty of things to criticize about this movie and you pick the nerdiest thing to nitpick

For reference purposes:

LINK

I don’t buy faking it entirely. At the bare minimum something had to have changed in his “worthiness” Otherwise the first pull would have done more than a slight creak.

AFTER that creak I can see him half assing it though.

Thanos was different, well he was different until this movie.

Probably my single biggest complaint after the time travel shenanigans was the treatment of Thanos. Went from intricately developed villain with established purpose and layers of personality to generic bad guy.

I disagree. I believe he was ALMOST worthy in AofU (hence the budge), but he achieved true 100% worth after admitting to Tony he knew about Bucky in CW. I think that put him over the edge. Either explanation is fine though tbh

Well, this was 2014 Thanos we were dealing with. I’m sure he changed a bit in that time. Failures, successes, etc.

Indeed.

And what is he? Hundreds of years old? Maybe a thousand?

Doubt an additional 5 years really changes his perspective on things that much.

Plus if the stones have the power to completely remake the entire universe from nothing....I feel this reopens the “why not just increase the resources of the universe?” question.

I think that was because you got pissed off Thanos, he saw them undoing something he spent his entire life to accomplish, so he just said frick it I’ll burn it down.

Now him sitting on his arse while Nebula went after the gauntlet was...questionable...

Also what was with their loyalty to Thanos there, considering both went on to betray pretty him pretty quickly in GOTG, which was in 2014

He is able to hold the hammer bc Thor holds the axe. Hell, Vision picked it up like nothing but he’s dead.

I expect an Avengers movie much sooner, they’re what...in 2023 or 2024 at the end of the film? That’s when I look for another.

So how many times has this been said...

I just got out. Freaking loved the movie.

Thought everything tied up nicely and enjoyed it.

Few gripes but didn't overtake the movie.

Brie Larson sucks. Captain marvel was absolutely not needed. Her hair sucks, she sucks, her role sucked.

Wtf was that cringey girl power moment?

Scarlet witch was bad arse though.

Thought buckey would get the shield but whatever. Actor probably couldn't carry the role or wanted to get out.

So cap can age it's just he was frozen, right? I liked what he did instead of just dying.

Black panther looked weird. CGI?

Really thought Hawkeye was going to tell red skull that he had already lost everything he loved and both would survive.

Fat Thor got old. Wish they would have just reverted him when he got mad and got his armor back.

Why wouldn't he go rule Asgard and let Valkyrie rule new Asgard?

Cap using mjormir was badass.
