Nick Saban isn't putting much stock into LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt's status on the injury report ahead of Saturday's showdown at Ole Miss.

Leavitt was initially listed as doubtful on Wednesday before being upgraded to questionable on Thursday, but Saban said Friday on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he fully expects the LSU quarterback to play.

"If I was a betting man, I would say there's absolutely nothing wrong with Sam," Saban said.

Saban explained that if he were preparing Ole Miss' defense, he would tell his players to ignore the injury report and prepare for Leavitt at his best.

"Sam Leavitt is going to play. We got to stop him," Saban said. "Don't lose your edge because you think he's not going to play, and then he shows up and plays, and it's a downer."

When McAfee asked Saban if he expects Leavitt to play Saturday, Saban didn't hesitate.

"100 percent. 100 percent."

Saban was then asked whether SEC coaches simply 'move on' when Lane Kiffin puts something like that on an injury report.

"And now we move on," Saban said.

Kiffin learned from Saban
Saban learned from Belicheck
Belicheck learned from Parcells
Parcells actually learned some of his “killer instincts” from Bobby Knight of all people.

All of them have a HUGE ego
All of them are fiercely competitive
&
All of them will do ANYTHING to win

I think Lane is in a damned if you do damned if you don't position. If you have a player that can't practice and you aren't more than 75% sure he will heal enough to play in the game, and you DON'T list him as doubtful you get the fines and the hate. If you DO then you're just using "gamemanship" if he DOES heal enough.

Screw 'em.
